My name is [redacted]. I was In need of a competent contractor to re roof my home. I got several quotes from roofing contractors around town. They all hovered around 15,000 dollars to re roof my home that I was under there assumption was not that large or complicated for that matter. I also got [redacted] bid and it was a full 3,000 less than the competition. In the past, this has meant shoddy work and higher risk for me when I have taken the lowest bid. I was shocked and pleasantly surprised when they came to the do the work and with the results that I received. I would recommend them to anybody and everybody for their professionalism and value and quite frankly, there ability to make a home improvement project fun!! Thanks a million guys.

We hired Mark A[redacted] to do a large addition to our home. Mark seemed eager to please and was quite the smooth talker. On the day of signing the elaborate 5-page contract, Mark made a point to mention that his father is a lawyer and helped him write the contract. At that time he also had a complaint filed against his bond and when we asked him about that he quickly talked it away.
The initial work progressed fine and Mark was good at communicating with us and quick to respond. However, that is where his strengths as a contractor end. Our experience with him progressively worsened as he tried to manipulate us and the contract. He tried to get out of doing a major part of what the contract outlined, and of what we had talked about from the beginning and all throughout the project. He thought he had found a way out of following through with what he committed to. When we disagreed with his views and eventually had to fall back on the contract to prove what work was necessary, he called in his lawyer father and tried to bully us into compliance. His easy demeanor quickly proved to be a fcedil;ade as he gave way to intense anger and threats. He called my wife a pain in his [redacted] twice to her face.
We were blessed in that we have a lawyer in the family also; otherwise we felt so threatened and bullied by Mark's severe tactics that we probably would have given in and lost thousands of dollars in the process. However, as the contract was in our favor, as confirmed by several legal professionals, we did not give in to him and ended our agreement with him. We then had to hire others to finish the many things left undone by him. We still lost money in the process and could have gone after him legally, but we decided it was not worth our time and peace of mind.
His worksmanship has proved to be very shoddy and poor. He claimed that they were experts in siding installation, and you would hope so with something so basic. However, in the windstorm two months ago, we lost the siding that he installed. The lower portion of our siding that was part of the original house stayed intact. No homes in our area lost any siding. Only the new siding that he installed came off. That's one example. We also lost some roof tiles. Thankfully, on the important things of our project, like the framing, Mark hired subcontractors who actually knew what they were doing.
Mark A[redacted] does not run his business with integrity and tries to bully and force compliance. We know that he has done this to many others. He currently has four claims filed against his bond and as of now, his license with Washington Labor and Industries has been suspended for two months. I can only hope it stays that way and that he finds a new line of work.

Initial contact was on time. Date and time to start, [redacted]k and all workers on time. They got busy and for the next 4 days worked all hours of daylight. Did a great job. No mess left. Found 2 real problems l by a previous contractor and the other by previous roofers that I later learned went out of business right after my roof was finished. Thus it was in not good shape and I had leaks.

I hired This company to build a deck, redo a porch and repair dry rot on some exterior surfaces about 3 months ago.

Wow! Was I impressed. They stuck to the quoted amount and had great communication. The results look fantastic and I would recommend them to anybody looking for home improvement.

AMR Construction, operated by [redacted], constructed a front deck, poured driveway and sidewalk to back gate, and constructed entryway overhang. He tried to get out of moving the entryway lamp although it was in the estimate and referred to in the final change order. Deck quality was poor in some respects. Took about 3 months to finish the work...much too long. Now it is going to be difficult to get railings on before the snow flies since it has to be custom made. [redacted] didn't know about or follow material spec sheets, recommended and got into an argument with my wife about using material that wouldn't work anyway! Entryway overhang's roof's peak is not centered over the entryway making the whole entry looking cockeyed. He started making it 20" in depth and I had to tell him the agreement was 30". He chose to stub on the 10" rather than start over. [redacted] avoided nailing down and documenting details, giving himself room to do what he wanted, not what we wanted. Resisted fixing mistakes then after they were fixed (done poorly with additional damage to deck). We gave him final payment after concluding that the work was technically done and we would just accept and deal with the remaining issues that he left us rather than re-engaging with [redacted]. [redacted] then drops a totally unexpected additional invoice for over $2000 and threatens a lawyer if not paid. If he pursues this I will file a complaint, not just a review.
[redacted] has no real customer relationship skills beyond schmoozing. He basically bullied and browbeat us for and early 3rd payment before fulfilling (poorly) his part of the contract, threatening a lien and to not finishing the work (which would have been his breaking of the contract!) and now is trying to browbeat us for a bogus $2000 follow-up invoice. This final invoice seemed to be a retaliatory "f[redacted] you" that he came up at the last minute. At the end [redacted] did not show any respect for being told that we considered him threatening and should no longer come to our house or the police might be called. His email demanding payment of this extra "invoice" lost all sense of professionalism and was threatening and taunting. No customer should have to deal with this kind of childish and unprofessional behavior. [redacted] has shown abysmal negotiating and consulting skills. He would only address issues if he wanted to and then pretty much only on his terms. Delaying payment was the only leverage that could be used to get the work finished. He made it clear that he, not the customer, comes first. As far as we are concerned [redacted] (AMR Construction) has been paid in full even though the work was sub-par and the experience of dealing with him was atrocious.

I have had [redacted] & the crew from Andrews Maintenance and Construction complete large & small jobs around my home, inside & out. They are friendly & fair, realistic & knowledgeable yet willing to research options. I feel lucky to have found them after some bad experiences with others.

After getting estimates from 5 different contractors I used Andrews Maintenance & Restoration LLC to help fix and remodel my basement after a flood destroyed much of the living space. We had our master bedroom (with fireplace) and office, bathroom, laundry room and "man cave" in the basement and almost everything was destroyed by water (we did not have flood insurance). After the initial clean up was done Mark came out and did an estimate. The job I was having estimates for was taking out a load bearing wall, installing a 14 ft beam, and creating a new master bedroom with walk-in closet. He carefully explained all the options, and the different price points of each. He was very professional and sent me individual bids based on us doing different aspects of the total job ourselves by that very evening. I was absolutely confident in what work I wanted his team to do, and what I thought we could do ourselves, and knew exactly what it would cost. His team showed up and was on time, and very professional. They were also very efficient in their work. They finished in record time, much quicker than I ever expected, and left the work site clean. They were so efficient the city permit inspector was able to come out that same afternoon and give his approval by 3 pm. I was so pleased with their work ethic, professionalism and price that I immediately hired them for another small job. This is one business card I will be keeping on hand for any future projects I don't want to DIY. I would not hesitate to recommend Mark to family and friends.
