Andy on Call was the best! Eric *** Carpenter was exceptional! Eric replaced our old wood rails with plastic and created a lattice frame for privacy! Will definitely use Andy on Call Eric for future projects!

Contractor didn't finish the job, and the company still expects their payment. Company doesn't care about my side of the story.
This company sent a contractor to do the job. The job took two weeks longer than first estimated. The contractor lost parts from the shower faucet we bought, but went ahead and put a wall over the shower valve making it impossible to change to a different faucet without tearing out the wall. He didn't want to take responsibility for anything that went wrong.

After we tracked down a new part for the shower, he came to put it on and couldn't figure it out. He couldn't get the faucet and showerhead to stop leaking. He panicked and acted like the valve in the wall might be bad and that the whole wall would have to be torn out.

He tried to drop the whole thing in the lap of the plumber (his recommended)that had installed it. Of course, if he hadn't lost the part, then he could have tested it BEFORE he put the walls all together. The contractor couldn't get out of here fast enough when he discovered it wouldn't work right.

He said the plumber would come fix it for us that night. We called his plumber later around 7:30 pm of the same day, but he was rude and said he would only come if he had time because he was still at work. He made it clear that he wouldn't take responsibility it if it was a bad valve. He didn't come that night or the next day like the contractor had promised he would. We tried to call the contractor SERVERAL times the next day, but he wouldn't answer his phone or call us back.

So, we were left with a non-functioning shower, and a contractor who wouldn't answer the phone or bother to check to see if the job got done...so unprofessional!

We had to call another plumber to finish the job that the contractor had pledged to do. Neither the contractor nor his company EVER followed up to see if the job got done. We weren't inclined to pay them for a job they didn't finish, and since they never asked, we didn't think they were going to.

Then, surprise, FOUR weeks after all of this happened they call out of the blue asking for the rest of their payment. We said no, because the contractor didn't finish the job, and NO ONE ever bothered to see if the job got done.

They claimed we had 30 days to pay and that is why they didn't call earlier. They called on the last day on a Friday evening at closing time to demand their payment. The guy on the phone could not have cared less that their contractor didn't finish the job. He wouldn't stop talking to hear my side of the story. He just kept demanding my credit card number and dismissing my complaints.

I tried to reach a compromise by asking that they take off the cost that I had to pay someone else to finish their job, but he wouldn't listen or consider it AT ALL!

I am VERY unhappy with this company, and would NEVER use them again, or recommend them to anyone. They have terrible customer service and are very unreasonable.

Yes, they do have my signature on their work order that I had to sign to get the work done, but it was with a verbal understanding with the contractor that he would finish the job.

They make you sign a work order that "on the same page" says the work is complete in print at the bottom just so they can get you in the end, no matter how badly you get treated. Apparently this is how the contractors can get away with not finishing their jobs while still getting paid in full.

It was a frustrating process that ended badly, and Andy on Call doesn't care about my satisfaction.

I would rate their customer service at a negative 5. They are an unprofessional company that doesn't care about keeping customers because they have certainly lost this one.

Desired Outcome

Since I probably have no legal basis for not giving them the payment, I would like for them to at the very least subtract the amount I had to pay the plumber to finish their job. Seriously, that is the LEAST they could do.

I am the manager of Andy OnCall and the one who dealt with this situation from beginning to end.
Ultimately what happened here is the customer had our craftsman come in to to repair the flooring in their bathroom. To do this, the shower stall needed to be removed and the shower valve needed to be replaced. Our craftsman referred the customer to a plumber and the plumber came and did his work. When our craftsman came back out after the plumber to finish his portion he noticed the materials the customer had purchased were missing parts. Our craftsman did not purchase these parts and our craftsman did not lose any of these parts. The first time the customer reordered these parts they did not come in, delaying the job. When the parts finally did arrive our craftsman came back out and this is when he noticed that the shower valve the plumber, not Andy OnCall, installed was still leaking. When it was explained to the customer that this was not something Andy OnCall would be able to fix and that they would need to call the plumber, both because we do not do plumbing work as well as the fact that we did not do the original work in the first place, the customer became irate, rude, and derogatory. At this point, I began speaking with the customer and explained that any of the work we did was covered under our warranty and we would have no
problem addressing those issues, but that we could not assume the responsibility for the work another company did. The customer ended up hanging up on me and I did not speak to the customer again until his bill was due (customers have 30 days to pay).
