He lives in an apartment complex where my company was hired by the management company to tow illegally parked cars and cars that do not have proper apartment parking stickers or even unregistered vehicles. Mr. [redacted]'s car has been parked in the lot for quite some time...
in disrepair. At one point it was up on blocks while the repairs were being done. The management company wanted it removed because it didn't have a parking permit on display. We towed the car on a flatbed to our shop. It is impossible to do damage to a car being towed in this manner. By Mr. [redacted]'s admission he had the car towed to his apartment because he knew it was not roadworthy. Mr. [redacted] did call me the following day and told me he was driving the car and the ABS light came on and then he told me all the dashboard lights went out. We explained to him that nothing we did would have cause that to happen and suggested different things he could try because it sounded like an electrical issue. We even helped him disconnect the battery to see if that would reset the computer in the dash but when that didn't help we suggested he talk to his mechanic. My guess would be that the battery dies while the car was not being used and the dash needed to be re programmed. Again, I would like to reiterate that a problem of that kind would be absolutely impossible to have happened in towing. Sometimes people get upset when their cars are towed even through they know they are wrong and they want something in return. This is clearly one of those situations.
