Review: We purchased paper flowers from: Anemone Paper Flowers for our wedding and they were not even close to what we wanted. My wife and I both called and talked to "[redacted]" to owner and she apologized and explained that one of her employees that had worked there for 5+ years ([redacted]) was moving and failed to relay the info for the project and the communication was a break down "on their end." She also explained that "in the Floral industry" the paper changes and they cant do anything about it. She was very sorry and there are no refunds on special orders. FINE.

My PROBLEM is that she admitted to us both (separate calls that it was her fault completely) and they wont stand behind her product. My wife called first and talked to [redacted] and then I called second......she offered to give us more flowers (which is nice, but we don't need any now) but they don't give ANY money back (not even half.....we would have split it with them)because in the floral industry that is part of the game. I told her she is not in the floral industry she makes paper flowers and had our order for NINE MONTHS! If there was a paper change she could have called us! And they were done two days behind scheduled time for pick up to boot. Which put us a couple day before our wedding and we had to go with what we had......Flowers that were completely wrong.Desired Settlement: My wife called to talk to her about the disappointment and to see what she would do. She ended up calling me VERY frustrated.....

[redacted] will not refund any money and she states: that the invoice says no refunds on it. I told her that we paid for something and did not get it. Its not our fault she can not run HER business, but my wife did have to walk down the aisle with ugly flower.

We both tried to talk to her with no resolve (she is difficult), my wife offered to split the bill with her. Which is way nicer than most brides would be I think. NOW WE JUST WANT OUR MONEY BACK, ALL OF IT.

Sorry for the delay in response. Anemone is a paper florist that has been in business since 2003. We have made flowers for over 400 weddings all across the country. When a bride meets with one of our designers she is made aware that the paper industry cannot guarantee the likeness of paper. From batch to batch paper can vary in shades and colors, as well as become discontinued in a moments notice. [redacted] ordered paper flowers from my company, and we custom printed her zebra pattered paper to match the saddle on her horse. Her papers were approved, her flowers were put into production. Her floral designer moved in the middle of her project, she created her production box, but failed to tell us that the color she ordered had been discontinued. When her flowers were put into production, there was her second choice paper in the box printed with her pattern. We noticed the paper was her second choice and she was not notified, too late to try to create a change, we made her extra flowers and wrote her a note explaining the situation.

Her maid of honor came that day to pick up the flowers. She was more that excited about them. She said she “thought the zebra pattern was weird and was going to look bad” but couldn’t believe how beautiful they turned out. She insured us that [redacted] was going to LOVE them, and that she wouldn’t mind the color difference. Unfortunately [redacted] did care. She called me yelling and demanding her money back. I calmly apologized and explained to her that unlike the fresh floral industry which flowers regularly are delivered unopened, the wrong color, or bruised, ours rarely are unable to be exactly what the bride ordered. I explained what she was already told that papers vary and change often, and that her invoice clearly states that there are no refunds on custom orders. I offered her in store credit for flowers she would like better to help ease her frustrations. She was extremely discontented that I wasn’t going to give her any of her money back. She hung up on me, her husband called me back in 15 minutes. He was very firm that I admitted that we made a mistake by not calling them to tell them their paper was going to be a different shade of zebra printed silver. I spoke with him calmly repeating what I told his wife. He got very angry and persistent with me. He threatened me to sue me and write bad reviews on every medium possible.

I told him I was sorry he was this upset over paper flowers and that a bad review will make our company look like one that is operated by humans. My boyfriend who is [redacted], owner of [redacted], a respected businessman in the city was there to witness. He couldn’t believe the grace and kindness I showed this couple. He thought I was too nice and shouldn’t let people talk to me the way they both did.

I was happy an employee didn’t have to deal with these people.
