Angel Medflight Worldwide Air Ambulance Service Reviews (13)

Truly ... Angels in the Air -- and on the ground. It is with great enthusiasm and heartfelt appreciation that I am writing this note to Revdex.com about a wonderful transportation resource for the injured, ill, and elderly. Angel MedFlight (AMF) is a Scottsdale AZ-based international air ambulance service.

My brother, Jon, had contracted with AMF to move our 98-year old father from Cape Coral, Florida to Surprise, Arizona, where he could be nearer to my wife and me. At the appointed hour on November 10, 2016, AMF’s Flight Nurse Anthony Scharrer and Flight Paramedic Daniel Holmes arrived at the Gulf Coast Village Retirement Community (GCV), our dad’s home for 7 years, with a team of Emergency Medical Technicians and an ambulance to start him on his travels. After consultation with GCV medical staff, the flight staff examined dad and prepared him for his long journey. With dad’s lady friend, Evelyn, her dog, Gretta, and me following in the town car provided by AMF, we proceeded to Page Field, Ft Myers, FL, where we were boarded onto a specially-equipped AMF Learjet 35A.

We were welcomed by AMF Aircraft Captain Robert Roark and Aircraft First Officer Jacob Lopez. I was extremely impressed with the AMF flight and medical team. They were appropriately attentive and helpful and they really did function as a well-trained and well-organized team. Each of the 4 team members pitched in to help each other in the personal care of my dad. Sincerest compliments and thanks to this fine team.

We had a pleasant and uneventful 2 1/2 hour flight to a refueling and rest stop in Houston, then onward for a 2 1/2 flight to Glendale AZ airport. We were provided a substantial box lunch and beverages in flight. My dad was awake for most of the flight and talked with Anthony and Daniel throughout the flight.

At Glendale, we were met by another ambulance team and town car. Bambi PishDerr, AMF representative, greeted and welcomed us to Glendale and AZ, and inquired about our experience. Anthony and Daniel accompanied us to Chaparral Winds Retirement Community where they made him comfortable before they departed to continue their flight schedule.

We are most grateful to AMF for the caring and thoughtful service to our dad and to us. From our first contact with Kristy Becker and the other Flight Coordinators, to the completion of our journey, we were handled courteously and professionally. Events were completed on-schedule and as planned. The arrangements went like clock-work and efficiently. The only momentary hitch was a new AMF policy that no longer permits dogs in the cabin due to a recent unpleasant and disruptive incident in flight. However, AMF fulfilled the terms of their contract and permitted Gretta to accompany us in a travel cage.

AMF truly dispatched their services and obligations. They fulfilled the premise and terms of their “One Touch Promise.” I cannot imagine how we could ever have successfully accomplished our goal of safely and efficiently relocating our invalid and aged dad 2000 miles using commercial ground and air services. AMF was a life saver for our dad and our family.

I will give Angel MedFlight an outstanding rating for their premier service and attention to details. Sincerest thanks to a fine group of professionals.

From our first conversation, AMF could not have been more attentive, helpful and informative. All the arrangements were made between AMF and the discharge planning coordinator at the hospital so we could focus solely on our son. The AMF nurse and respiratory therapist attended to all the details of transporting our son, from bedside at [redacted] to bedside in [redacted] They were kind, compassionate and attentive to his needs at all times. The flight was smooth and the pilots were very kind as well. We had no problem meeting the deadlines for checking into the hospital in [redacted].

Angel Medflight was tremendous in my emergency from Costa Rica to Florida. All my internal organs shut down and I would not be here today if it was not for them. There have been issues with my insurance company paying for the flight which Angel Medflight is trying to resolve. The insurance company said they would pay and then changed their mind after they had agreed to pay, I would have been dead if it was not for Angel flight taking back to the USA. Now Angel Medflight has had to use lawyers to try and resolve this with the insurance company. This has been going on since Feb. 28th 2016. After this is resolved I will let everyone know its final outcome. sincerely C

Recently my sister had a heart attach and approximately three weeks later a stroke. She spent nearly a month in stroke center hospital hospital in Los Angeles but was not responding to treatment. It was clear she needed to be moved to a higher level of care which was determined to be in Phoenix, Arizona. We contact Angel Medflight for assistance. I am happy to report that everyone contacted at this company exuded the highest level of compassion and professionalism. The day of the transfer the process to move my sister from LA to phoenix was executed with military precision. The flight crew consisting of two pilots, a flight nurse, paramedic were amazing. The were so kind and professional. It is hard to imagine how a company could be so perfect. I no reservations with giving this company the highest possible recommendation.

‘retainer’ amount which is a fraction of the total billed charges outlined in our transport agreement. We also obtained insurance information with the understanding that Angel MedFlight will submit a claim to the insurance company after the medical flight is complete. We did obtain authorization to submit a claim to insurance in this case.We understand that a medical flight is a first-time event for most patients and their family members; under extremely difficult circumstances. We are especially sensitive to the difficulty of [redacted] situation. We know that insurance billing and claims handling can be complex and that there is a lot of information to retain. Our goal is to ensure that every member involved in the decision making process understands the billing and claims procedures. We are not only committed to providing excellence in care, but also valuable service overall to everyone involved in the process of coordinating a medical flight. As a company, we are sincerely sympathetic to the circumstances of each of our patients and strive to keep the process as simple as possible.  In order to provide excellence in quality and service to each patient, it is necessary that we secure payment for our services.  We have had the opportunity to speak with [redacted] to address her concerns and resolve the situation. We appreciate having had the opportunity to safely transport [redacted] back home to receive the care that she needed, surrounded by her family.

The Angel Medflight team is knowledgable, polite, professional, efficient and truly cares about their patients and their families. The process is flawless and in the midst of trial and emergency the team not only handles everything right down to luggage but puts our minds at ease. We have used Angel Medflight numerous times and they are our go to team.

I had to contact Angel Med Flight to help transfer a family member who had an accident while in another state. We wanted him to be closer to home as well as have a second opinion. Angel Med Flight was professional & helpful. I was extremely grateful to their communication and dedication. Tammy kept me up to date and in the loop. My family member made it back safely.

Angel MedFlight transferred my son via air ambulance. The flight coordination team was super knowledgable and the crew made us feel like we were in great hands. My son is getting better and I owe it partly to this company. They made a tough situation easier.

I am so impressed with Angel Med Flight and how well they took care of my mother and reassured my family and me that everything was going to be taken care of. My family and my 72 year old mother were traveling to [redacted] from **, when my mom had a heart attack and had to have open heart surgery at [redacted]. We were in [redacted] awaiting on her to be transported to a rehab facility. After her surgery, her kidneys shut down forcing her to remain in ICU and keeping from transporting her to a rehab facility. Because of her insurance not paying for the transportation, she would only be transported to the nearest rehab facility which was [redacted], **. So we literally were stuck in [redacted]. After 21 days of being in ICU, friend of mine suggested calling Angel Med Flight on the Saturday before she was going to be sent to [redacted] on Monday. I called and the entire staff was amazing and within minutes had given me a quote and told me that they could get my mother home to **. On Monday the arrangements were made between the Staff and the hospital, and I did not have to worry about a thing. Although my mother had to pay out of her own pocket, it was well worth the price. On Tuesday, after all the plans were made, Angel Med Flight arrived at her bedside with Tony S[redacted] and Chaleece C[redacted]. These flight nurses were phenomenal in preparing my mother and making her feel safe. Tony was funny, yet professional, and held my mother's hand the entire flight because she was scared and had never flown. Chaleece talked to my mother about her husband passing away and consoled my mom when she was talking about her husband who had passed away 6 months previous. Both nurses were experienced in their knowledge. They flew my mother from [redacted] to [redacted], **. When they took off I was so relieved that someone had helped us and listened to us and did all of the work setting it up and delivered my mother safely to her rehab hospital. They are truly angels and worth every penny to get us home and my mother to rehab. I called them Angels in flight uniforms.

Review: I was for my mother dying of bladder cancer in [redacted] Canada when I became dangerously ill and was admitted to ICU on April 19, 2015. My mother died during my stay in the hospital. My health did not significantly improve, I continued to be at a very high medical risk with sepsis, plural effusions, pneumonia, congestive heart failure, and kidney failure. I was in perfect health upon leaving VA for Canada. I was accumulating massive medical bills in a foreign country, my mother died, and my immediate family were without passports. It was a dire emergency that I return home. Angel Medflight was contacted to bring me home on a medical jet. There representative quoted a price of 8,440.00. I provided a credit card which was ry on hold until I was home and could send cash. I paid by check the full bill and my check cleared paying Angel MedFlight 8,440.00. I filled out a huge packet of information for Angel MedFlight in my medical bed under the worst conditions possible. I was alone in a foreign hospital. I had been quoted a sum I could pay. Nothing was mentioned to me about sending my insurance company a bill for 200,000.00 dollars. I have a maximum of 50,000.00 of medical insurance for medical care in a foreign country. Angel Medflght collected my entire health coverage for foreign travel. I have nothing to pay the hospital. None of this information was explained to me. I was given paperwork to fill out under extreme duress during the fight of my life. I came home and was admitted to progressive care and eventually came home on oxygen. I am finally off of oxygen and now have been diagnosed with cancer. I am unable to financially pay 25,000-30,000 in medical bills to [redacted] Memorial hospital because Angel Medflight misled me during a time of extreme duress with the loss of my mother, being in a foreign country fighting for my life, being away from family fighting for my life.Desired Settlement: I want Angel Medflight to be contacted for billing adjustment. 200.000.00 was never given to me in a bill or estimate. My bill was 8,440.00. They took advantage of my insurance company and of me during the fight of my life. I want the bill adjusted so that [redacted] Memorial Hospital will be paid in full for my medical services.
