I responded to an add on [redacted] from angel rock for a month to month rental of a cottage during their off searsonI started a month to month tenancy at angel rock cottages on Sept 11th 2016, paid my first months rent of $plus a $security deposit, which was actually suppose to be a full months rent but only paid for a cottage until 9/26/16, when on 9/26/I paid another $when we moved into a different cottage, on October 21st I had a miscarriage and on the order of my dr that I can't be living on my own because of complications that arrived from my miscarriage So I notified the office at angel rock that I would not be continuing my stay and to please return my deposit We have no lease and there is no damage to the cottage to which they would have a right to hold a security deposit They are refusing to return my deposit saying that I am cancelling early, when the term that they advertised was month to month I have no rent due to them, my deposit of $ne

We offer long term off season rentals between October and May at greatly reduced rates for a minimum rental period of monthsWe allowed this customer to start her rental in September as she expressed a dire need due to a home situationAs we had nothing available for the entire time she
requested, she had to start in one home #and move to another, #We rented her vacation home #from 9/11/to 9/25/for $750, (which is a discount of $off our weekly rate in September), and we rented her vacation home #from 9/26/to 4/25/for $7200, (which is also greatly discounted as our monthly rates don't begin until Mid-OctoberShe was also charged a $security/damage/cancellation deposit which would be refundable at the end of her stay if there was no damage, the premises were clean at exit and if early cancellation did not occurHer total rental was $The payment plan we offered her was $due on 9/11/16, $due on 9/26/and $due on the 26th of each subsequent monthOn 10/26/she informed us via email that she had already moved out - giving us no advance noticeThis constituted early cancellation and therefore we applied the $to her balance due and waived all remaining rentWe treated this customer more than fairly in trying to help her out when she was in dire need, but did not get fairly treated by her when she moved out without notice, leaving us with no time to find a tenant to replace the lost revenueAdditionally, her father paid the deposit, not her - so no refund would be due to her even if she had completed the rental period as agreed, it would have been due to her fatherEnclosed is a copy of the rental agreement - note the security/damage/cancellation deposit is very clearly definedWe have also enclosed a copy of the *** ad for vacation home #- note that the minimum rental period is monthsPlease do not hesitate to contact us if you require any additional informationThank you, Carol TPresident - Angel Rock Cottages, Inc
