To begin with the gentleman invited us to his house to change the filters on his drinking water systemWe completed the projectHe proceeded to ask us to look at his old water softener in the basementUpon review the gentleman told our technician that he has been told that the system is old
from other vendors The gentleman stood next to our water educator as they looked at the unit togetherOr service technician determine that this unit was old and should be replacedAs a GE service center we are quite familiar with the product Our service technician performed no major service on this unit This gentleman called our company after hours and mention what was happeningWe offered to run out in order to help him with the water coming out from the unitHe declined our offerThe next morning he requested service and he asked for our insurance informationWe found that awkward since he declined our technicians to visit with him when he found the unit leakingOur service tech showed up at his house determined it was a major failure on behalf of the tank Angel did not sell this client this unit nor did we sell it to the prior homeowner A major failure on the resin tank is virtually never seenBecause we did not sell this unit and because of its age we believe we have no liability in this matter If this Gentlemen submit a claim to his own insurance, we will be happy to have a discussion with them Our stance will be the same, the unit is old and needs to be replaced It’s failure has nothing to do with our tech looking at the system
