Angelo's Auto Sales Reviews (2)

Review: I went to Angelo's auto on June 16, '15 with the notion in mind buying a used car that I figured based on a recommendation was a quality car. I admit I was not fully aware of an "As is" contract in auto sales and in conversation with the salesman, I was never really made aware of the fine details. I saw a check engine light on in the car I bought, but was told this was nothing serious and that the light would go off; but It did not. I went back to the dealer and after he did a diagnostic on it, it went off. It came on shortly after on the road and he said that would happen if something was seriously wrong with the car. He had told to me on the purchase/contract that he/Angelo's would pay for any issue resulting in failure to pass DMV inspection, but when I called him up to get an exchange or a refund he told me they would not pay for the service needed or exchange or refund my money. Within a day or two, he finally agreed to do an exchange, but it would only be for a car that has serious "play" or suspension ball joint/tie rod problems and worth only about half the value of the other car. The night before It was agreed to do an exchange, he told me the exchange car had a couple serious problems. The next day he said it had no problems; but during the test drive it was noticeable that it has play and it is going to need service/work done very soon. I am now offered store credit but no certainty of a vehicle any time soon and I believe I am just being hoodwinked into believing that this will come to more than more of him deceiving me and be-leauguering me into continuing this contract.Desired Settlement: All I really want at this point is to obtain a refund and to do business with a more honest/reliable dealer. If I continue any more of this contract, I might suffer from mental nagging on behalf of the dealer treating me in a criminal manner. I put $1650 in cash down on it and have to pay $50 a week during the time I get a car for a year and a half.

MESSAGE FROM BUSINESS:This is a reply to order number [redacted] involving Angelo 's Auto Sales and [redacted]. On June 16, 2015 I, [redacted] helped Mr. [redacted] with his purchase. I presented over thirty five vehicles that were possible to purchase with Mr. [redacted]'s down payment. Mr. [redacted] and his father discussed multiple vehicles he could finance with his down payment within his budget. Mr. [redacted], with his father chose a vehicle and both went alone on a test drive in vehicle. After they returned from the test drive they chose to purchase the vehicle and enter a finance agreement to pay for the vehicle on June 16, 2015 omitting his father from the purchase. We completed the finance contract and issued a temporary tag and Mr. [redacted] drove the car away.On June 17, 20 15 Mr. [redacted] called with concern due to a check engine light. I told Mr. [redacted] that the check engine light could come on for hundred s of different reasons and if the car seems to be operating fine, drive the car into our dealership and I would scan the vehicle's check engine light with our device and we both would know the reason the check engine light came on. Mr. [redacted] came into our dealership with the vehicle and I scanned thecheck engine light, noted the problem and cleared the check engine light. I told Mr. [redacted] the check engine light stated there may be a problem with a sensor to the vehicle and if it comes back on for the same sensor we will have itreplaced and it was safe to drive. I assured Mr [redacted] that the check engine light was not a safety concern. Mr. [redacted] called the next day and said the check engine light was back on. I gave Mr. [redacted] the choice to drop it offhere at our location to be sent out for repair to one of four repair shops in our area that will replace the sensor at no charge to him or take it to one of the four repair shops and we would pay for the repair.Mr. [redacted] then stated that he wanted his money back. I explained our binding contract that he signed in multiple places while under video and audio surveillance with his and his father's awareness, agreement, and full attention states that All Sales Are Final/ No Refunds. Mr. [redacted] agreed he was aware of what he signed and he chose the vehicle and was sorry he was not comfo1table with the check engine light. We decided to let Mr. [redacted] choose another vehicle. We then went over our inventory we had in his price range, credit situation, and income and we found more vehicles he was approved for. After consideration of Mr. [redacted]'s concerns, I offered him a Buick LeSabre that we recently had serviced and was repaired and ready for the road. Mr. [redacted] drove the Buick but had reservations about the repairs done to the vehicle as if he thought the vehicle's parts that were repaired were a current problem. I assured him the parts and components repaired or replaced were working at their full potential and did not have any evidence of fatigue or failure. After a short conversation with his father he stated he wanted his money back. I explained again that there were no refunds. He agreed he signed, printed and initialed the contract and tried to explain he had buyer's remorse.I told him that is why you test drive the vehicle and I explain our contract and you read it before you sign it so we do not find ourselves in this type of situation and I cannot refund your money. I can offer you these other vehicles and you're not losing your down payment. Mr. [redacted] said he does not want another vehicle.Mr. [redacted] was granted permission from Angelo's Auto Sales to be relieved of his obligation and not to continue with his sequential finance agreement from the car originally purcha sed without a refund of his down payment. Mr. [redacted] was offered to review his purchase on video and reminded that everything in his binding contract was explained to him and he was given the opportunity to sign the contract only after he understood and he agreed he signed the contract multiple places and did not want a vehicle from our current inventory.Mr. [redacted] called Angelo's Auto Sales on July 25, 2015 and was enthusiastically hopeful on the arrival of another vehicle that would fit his financial and motor vehicle needs. Angelo's Auto Sales has not received a substitute vehicle to his liking at this time. Angelo 's Auto Sales is currently attempting at every supplier it acquires inventory from to get Mr. [redacted] a vehicle for his unique requirements. In closing Angelo's Auto Sales feels this situation is unfortunate for Mr. [redacted] and us. We are going above and beyond to accommodate Mr.[redacted] with a different vehicle .For any questions or concerns please contact our offices at [redacted]

Dealer seems to be lacking in his ethics and being up front with potential customers. When we asked about a few concerns we had with the car, his answer was always " I don't know" or couldn't tell ya man" . Car was supposedly never in an accident, but inner fender wells had obvious weld lines and paint brush strokes that looked nothing like the other side. When we pointed this out to him, he simply said "I don't know". He also made sure to show the pictures online that had none of the paint blemishes or repainted areas shown. Honest reputable dealers will inform you of these things before you drive 2 hrs to look at a car. The last straw that upset us was when we discovered the check engine light bulb had been pulled out of dash. When you first put key in ign and turn it, all dash lights should illuminate for a moment. They all did except for the check engine light. Hooked a scanner up to the odb2 port and found numerous engine codes. After bringing this to his attention he once again said "I don't know" and that he had other stuff he had to go do. Inspect his vehicles very carefully and make sure the check engine light bulb is actually working. Better yet, just find a reputable dealer that has a honest cars. Not worth the little you save at Angelos dealership.
