Angelo's Townline Auto Service Inc Reviews (1)

Review: 10/26/15 Angelo S Townline Inc. located in [redacted], NJ performed repairs on my vehicle, a black 2003 [redacted] gs, without my consent. My brother, Raymond [redacted] had my vehicle towed to this mechanic and I was unaware of where the vehicle was taken to. I only knew it was somewhere in [redacted] NJ. Raymond gave the mechanic my information such as my name and address, and proceeded with purchasing a new tire and rim for my vehicle. I was unaware of the prices until after the work was already completed. Raymond then decided to hold my vehicle hostage until I paid him back $300 for the repairs I didn't know about. I knew the vehicle needed repairs but I asked Raymond to check prices first. I never heard back from him until after repairs were completed. Angelo S Townline Inc should not have performed repairs on my vehicle without my consent. The vehicle is registered and insured in my name and I should have been informed of the repairs and costs by the mechanic before repairs were completed. Due to this mechanic's lack of owner verification of the vehicle, police had to be involved in the matter just so I could get my vehicle returned to me. It doesn't matter if the person who brought the vehicle to the mechanic paid for the repairs or not. Repairs should never be done on a vehicle without the owner's consent.

Good afternoon, I spoke to Miss Rachel [redacted] early this afternoon concerning repairs that were performed on her 2003 [redacted] She expressed her frustration with her brother, Raymond Fisher, who brought her vehicle in for repairs without her knowledge or consent. The repairs entailed installing a used tire and remanufactured wheel due to damage at the existing tire and wheel. It is not uncommon for customers to bring vehicles in with variations in the customer's name delivering the vehicle, and that of the customer's name on the registration. Quit often husbands and wives, brothers and sisters, or other family members bring vehicles in for one another. There was nothing suspicious of Mr. [redacted] bringing the vehicle in as he possessed the key and other pertinent documents to the vehicle. We called Mr. [redacted] for authorization for repairs, which he agreed to. Upon completion of the repairs, Mr. [redacted] picked the vehicle up and paid for total repair cost on 10/26/15 (see attached signed invoice). Also, as indicated on the invoice, there was No Charge for the used tire. Miss [redacted] informed me today that the repairs were performed without her knowledge and that her brother was holding the vehicle hostage until she paid him for the full repair cost. She confirmed that she let her brother borrow the vehicle and stated that he damaged the rim and tire himself. We as a business cannot control the domestic disputes of family members. As stated in the above paragraph, there was nothing to suggest that the vehicle was stolen or brought to our facility fraudulently. I am sorry for Miss [redacted] frustrations concerning dealings with her brother, however I cannot control issues that she and her brother have. Respectfully, Angelo Giannopoulos

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: Regardless of what Angelo s Townline Inc allows in its shop, the repairs should always be confirmed with the owner whether they are present or not. The mechanic was aware that Raymond wasn't the owner because they reviewed the registration, which stated my name on it. They then proceeded to put my name on the bill, also without my knowledge. I am not looking for the mechanic to solve my issues with my brother Raymond, but I would like them to give some sort of restitution as to this $300 repair that was done without my consent.

Regards,

Rachel Fisher

Response:

I am sorry for your disappointment, however as stated, it is common practice for customers to bring vehicles in for other family members. There was nothing suspicious of Mr. [redacted] request to have a tire and wheel replaced. As stated, Mr. [redacted] paid for the repairs at the time of completion. I would understand Miss [redacted] rejection on repairs if our business forwarded the invoice to her for payment, but this was not the case. Our business in not in the position to "give" the cost of repairs to the customer simply because two siblings had a disagreement. The vehicle was brought in for repair, services were received, and therefore monies were owed. By our business practices, the sale was processed through the proper channels.
