This is my opinion based on my experiences with attorney [redacted] Anglin.
I scheduled an initial consultation through his Administration Assistant . I scheduled this appointment via email. At no time through this conversation was it indicated to me it was a phone interview. I have the email chain to confirm. Consequently I arrived at [redacted] Anglin's office at the appointed time and date. His assistant asked me why I was at the office and I explained that I had an appointment. She then told me that it was a phone interview. I asked if I should step out of the room and call or could he see me as I was present. His assistant went into Attorney [redacted] Anglin's office and asked. She came out and told me he would not see me in person. I asked if I was to then leave the office and call him to which she called him to confirm how I should proceed. [redacted] Anglin (whom I could hear through his office walls) confirmed that I should step outside and call him for our appointment. I proceeded outside, called the office, and [redacted] Anglin and myself discussed my case. At the end of the 30 minute consultation he agreed to take my case. I was sent the fee agreement and I paid the retainer fee of $550. This plus the initial $50 consultation fee this was to cover approximately three hours of work.
Over the coming eight weeks, I received no updates unless I requested them. The last week of November [redacted] Anglin sent me an email indicating that he had received a denial from the attorney working for the party I had issue with. He was able to acquire a meeting between myself and the party I had issue with. The next email was an invoice which included an additional $370.48. In looking through the invoice I do not believe that he is being honest about the amount of time he put into my case. From start to finish, including the consultation, I cannot conceive that he really spent over three hours on a couple of emails, even fewer updates to me as the client, and review of any material necessary for the case. To give the cliché "he nickel and dimed me" would be an understatement.
