Angstrom Analytical Inc Reviews (1)

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2015/11/04) */
Dear Ms. [redacted]:
If I understand this complaint, [redacted] has contacted you about having to pay for analytical services provided by our company. Mr. [redacted] even goes so far as to conclude his complaint that in dealing with our...

company "The whole scenario is very suspicious". We are not sure where or how Mr. [redacted] got the idea that he did not have to pay for our services, but we believe him to be wrong on several of his assertions.
Contrary to his assertion that we perform asbestos abatement work, I can state emphatically, that Angstrom only provides analytical testing and building survey services. Nowhere on our website (www.angstromanalytical.com) does it state that we perform abatement work. We have never been nor will we ever be an (asbestos or other hazardous material) abatement contractor.
Another incorrect assertion is when Mr. [redacted] states that he received a call a week after he dropped off the samples. The samples were collected from our drop-box on the morning of October 19, 2015. The drop-box is checked every weekday and on most weekends. Therefore, he must have placed them there over the weekend on the 18th, 17th, after hours on the 16th or early morning on the 19th. Later that same day (the 19th) a voice mail was left on the number provided by Mr. [redacted], with a message to call us back for the results. He returned our call the next day (the 20th) and was given verbal results and asked for payment of $120 (3 samples x $40). He said that he didn't think he needed to pay for our services and I told him we were a lab and that is how we derive revenue. He said he would call us back and that is the last I heard anything regarding this matter until receipt of your letter dated October 21, 2015.
His complaint also asserts we "just come up with random prices". I'm not exactly sure what random pricing is, but we ask people to call because our prices vary depending on the level of service, the analytical turn around time and the types of material we are analyzing. Two weeks ago, on a week-end, we received a call at 4:15 a.m. The customer wanted to submit several samples and needed results by 9:00 a.m. I can guarantee you they paid considerably more than the $40 per sample.
Angstrom Analytical, Inc. (a hazardous material analytical laboratory) is a for profit business established in 1992. Since our beginning we have analyzed over one million samples and this is the first complaint we have received regarding someone who didn't think he had to pay of our analytical services. Therefore, I find it hard to believe customers feel blindsided by our charging for our services.
This is how we will resolve the issue: Mr. [redacted] can keep his money. He hasn't paid for anything and isn't out anything. We will keep our written report and Mr. [redacted] can take his samples to another lab for analysis. If he can find a lab that will analyze his samples for free, please let us know and we will send our samples there too.
Sincerely,
Steve [redacted], Project Manager
Angstrom Analytical, Inc.
