Review: I had left my dog here to board while I was on vacation out of state for 2 weeks. When I came back before I even seen my dog I asked the owner if she had been good and if anything happened she said yes she was good other some anxiety and no nothing happened. When the owner went to the back to get my dog she said that she seen a hot spot and was going to clean it up before bringing her to me. after she cleaned it and brought my dog out and tried to show me I could see a large red mark on her neck but my dog was over excited so I couldn't get a good look so I took her out to the car and looked closer to find 2 perfectly spaced quite deep puncture wounds in the left side of her neck. I took a picture of it and went back inside to show the owner that it wasn't a hot spot that it was actually a bite mark and she denied anything happening and still insisted it was a hot spot but that she would pay the vet bill to have it treated. My dog had to have surgery to treat it and the vet bill is so far over $1000. The owner has given me a check for what the estimate was of $986.12 but the vet had to add a procedure making the amount I actually paid $1,030.50. The vet had to remove quite a large amount of tissue that he said was dead. She will need additional vet visits to remove the drain in her neck, remove the stitches, and just a general check up to make sure it's not infected and healing correctly. Animal control and other places seem to not see this as big of a deal as I do and don't think the place needs to be investigated because it could have just been an accident but even if it was why wasn't I told about it?Desired Settlement: Firstly I would like a refund of the $330 I paid for the boarding service. Secondly I would like the difference of what she has already given me and what I had to actually pay, plus whatever other vet bills come up with drain and stitches removal. A written apology/explanation of what happened because I don't believe she doesn't know what happened since it looked like her fur around the holes had been clipped and unless your neglectful of the dogs you board you would have seen the wound on her neck, it was very noticeable. and honestly I'd like some sort of pain and suffering settlement. my dog is miserable, my son is sad that he can't play with her because of the drain hanging out of her neck, she keeps wanting to play with my husband but can't because she's on no activity for 2 weeks orders from the vet which in turn makes my husband upset because he loves playing with her and he deploys very soon which makes it where he can't play with her till he gets back. and I want something to be done so that this will not happen to another dog at this facility. Change the boarding procedures, don't let dogs play together at all or under strict supervision, actually call the pets owner if something happens instead of denying it.
