If you have a busy schedule but want to pursue an animal related career or further your knowledge I recommend Animal Behavior CollegeYou can work school around your daily scheduleThe school is very flexible and gives you a great foundation to a long lasting career doing something you love

I didn't think about being a dog trainer until I got my pit ZeusHe got into everythingChewed my shoes, chewed the couch cushion, he chewed my cap and my girlfriend's text book He barked alot and when he got bigger he started getting aggressive when anyone visited our apartment or came near us when we would walk himIt got pretty badWhen I got on the internet to look for dog trainer classes I saw a ad for ABC about how to become a dog trainerI went on the website to learn more and called the school I ended up signing upWhat I liked is its onlineI could keep working at my job full time and not deal with going to a class When ever I needed help or asked a question the staff always were helpfulMy favorite part was working with my mentorShe taught me a lotI would go home and teach Zeus what I learnedHis behavior improved After I graduated I taught dog training lessons part time and still do I plan to one day teach full timeFor me, signing up for ABC made me discipline myself The course is at your own pace and its easy to procrastinate and get lazy I had to apply myself and feel I can accomplish any thing since I was able to finish the courseMy success is up to me ABC gives you the tools and its up to you to learn and apply what you learn

I have finally finished the Animal Behavior College Dog Obedience Instructor Program! It wasn't easy but I believe the effort was worth it This course will give a serious student the knowledge to train dogs professionally It also gives a level of hanexperience that allowed me to see first hand how what I learned about in theory worked in the real world I took over a year and a half to complete the course and recommend this to anyone who desires to train dogs professionally The materials in the program were well researched and the externship which is where I got my hands on experience was very interesting I was nervous when I first started but after a few weeks my confidence grew and within a few months I was looking forward to each new opportunity The program is what you make of itI studied hard, spend time and effort really trying to master the materials and got an outstanding result

ABC is amazingTheir programs fit any busy schedule, and their externship program is what I loved the mostThey work with trainers all over the country, and paired me with the most amazing woman, whom I learned so much fromThey also have a great support system if you need help with any part of your programI highly recommend them to anyone who wants to enter the animal care industry

4,000 dollars I spent on the same amount of information I could have gotten at Barnes and Nobles for 400 dollars. The information is outdated and the testing is deeply flawed. The staff never addressed any of my complaints. The trainers that they sent me to for my externship had no interest in teaching me anything. The dogs in their classes, of which I attended 30 weeks, did not progress even slightly. Most of their clients did not make it through the 6 week programs. Please do not waste your money. Buy some dog training books, go to shelters and practice on dogs that need help. If you were meant to be a trainer, you will get it. Keep practicing! Walk as many dogs as you can. Read as many books as you can. Make a business card when you get confident. Dont charge as much at first until you get good. The rest will take care of itself. Certainly dont waste your money for a certification in a business with no state or federally regulated certification. Make one on your computer, it will be worth just as much but save you 4000$!!!!!!!! I have since started my own business and am very busy. My clients are happy and so are their dogs. But the knowledge that helped me most came from trial and error. Practice and love for animals. NOT THIS CON-ARTIST institution.

I didn't know I wanted to be a dog trainer until I started volunteering at an SPCA in Stafford, Virginia. It was there I realized how much I could really help get these dogs into a good, forever home if only I had the knowledge and understanding of how to train them. After researching different options for schooling, I felt like Animal Behavior College would be able to offer me the education for dog obedience training that I was looking for.
The staff at Animal Behavior College was great. They were so supportive and helpful when I called to inquire about their dog obedience program, they quickly gave me the information I needed to decide this was where I wanted to be. My program manager was extremely helpful and was sure to always be available to answer any questions I had in a timely manner.
I really liked that the program was flexible to my schedule. While in the program, I was working a corporate job that required a lot of my time each week. I was able to do the home study portion on my time and get through it at my own pace. If I thought I needed extra time completing a section, there was no hesitation from my program manager in offering and extension. I knew she was always there to help me understand and get through the program.
My favorite part was definitely the volunteer hours that were required. I love working with dogs that truly benefit from and need someone to spend time working and teaching them how to be a good and happy dog. I continued my education with Animal Behavior College and enrolled in the Shelter Dog Training [redacted] Pet Nutrition [redacted] and the Pet Sitting and Dog Walking CEP courses.
The CEPs are a great way to continue learning, and ABC offers some really useful courses. However, as I was doing the Pet Nutrition [redacted] I found that it could really use an update. The course was pretty awful and I really struggled getting through it. I brought this up to my program manager who also agreed that it could use a revamp and ABC was going to be working on it. She offered me an extension to get through the course. Even with the extension I was unable to complete it. I have since found that ABC has finished a new, updated Pet Nutrition [redacted] and they offered to let me retake that course.
Because of Animal Behavior College, I am able to make a difference in my community by saving lives and strengthening the relationships of pet owners with their dogs. I would definitely recommend Animal Behavior College to anyone who loves working with animals and wants to help make a difference.

I started this college in September of 2014 and I graduated and received my certificate September 2015 and the whole experience was awesome from the start my counselor was very supportive and helped me with all of the paperwork that I needed, my program manager Azure was really nice and friendly she was there for me every step of the way if I had any questions. My externship mentor Glenda was really fun and nice to work with. I can't brag about this college enough I constantly tell people about it and if they have an interest in being a dog trainer I tell them to definitely consider Animal Behavior College.

I'm a military spouse, but I hate traditional schools whether I'd been moving around or not. It was important to find a school that was convenient and I could learn at my own pace. I've always wanted to open my own business someday. I'm an avid dog lover and pursuing a career as a professional dog trainer seemed so natural to me. After doing some research online, I discovered ABC. What I liked most about the program is The staff and instructors go out of their way to help you and make sure you're taken care of, and the curriculum itself is awesome. Speaking of the curriculum, I found it challenging and had a lot of fun incorporating what I learned in the online portion of the program and my externship. They even hired a trainer on for the externship half of my dog training certification so I wouldn't have to drive hours away! There were No excess classes to make you pay for something you don't need just so they can be funded. I liked this a lot. I also like that if I have to relocate, I can still do what I love - train dogs. If I had a negative thing to say about the program, it would be that it's not for everyone. I don't mean that in a bad way. It's just that if you're not a disciplined person, this program may not be for you. Online programs like this take discipline. Your success is totally up to you.
