I started this college in September of and I graduated and received my certificate September and the whole experience was awesome from the start my counselor was very supportive and helped me with all of the paperwork that I needed, my program manager Azure was really nice and friendly she was there for me every step of the way if I had any questionsMy externship mentor Glenda was really fun and nice to work withI can't brag about this college enough I constantly tell people about it and if they have an interest in being a dog trainer I tell them to definitely consider Animal Behavior College
I didn't know I wanted to be a dog trainer until I started volunteering at an SPCA in Stafford, VirginiaIt was there I realized how much I could really help get these dogs into a good, forever home if only I had the knowledge and understanding of how to train themAfter researching different options for schooling, I felt like Animal Behavior College would be able to offer me the education for dog obedience training that I was looking for The staff at Animal Behavior College was greatThey were so supportive and helpful when I called to inquire about their dog obedience program, they quickly gave me the information I needed to decide this was where I wanted to beMy program manager was extremely helpful and was sure to always be available to answer any questions I had in a timely manner I really liked that the program was flexible to my scheduleWhile in the program, I was working a corporate job that required a lot of my time each weekI was able to do the home study portion on my time and get through it at my own paceIf I thought I needed extra time completing a section, there was no hesitation from my program manager in offering and extensionI knew she was always there to help me understand and get through the program My favorite part was definitely the volunteer hours that were requiredI love working with dogs that truly benefit from and need someone to spend time working and teaching them how to be a good and happy dogI continued my education with Animal Behavior College and enrolled in the Shelter Dog Training [redacted] Pet Nutrition [redacted] and the Pet Sitting and Dog Walking CEP courses The CEPs are a great way to continue learning, and ABC offers some really useful coursesHowever, as I was doing the Pet Nutrition [redacted] I found that it could really use an updateThe course was pretty awful and I really struggled getting through itI brought this up to my program manager who also agreed that it could use a revamp and ABC was going to be working on itShe offered me an extension to get through the courseEven with the extension I was unable to complete itI have since found that ABC has finished a new, updated Pet Nutrition [redacted] and they offered to let me retake that course Because of Animal Behavior College, I am able to make a difference in my community by saving lives and strengthening the relationships of pet owners with their dogsI would definitely recommend Animal Behavior College to anyone who loves working with animals and wants to help make a difference
4,dollars I spent on the same amount of information I could have gotten at Barnes and Nobles for dollarsThe information is outdated and the testing is deeply flawedThe staff never addressed any of my complaintsThe trainers that they sent me to for my externship had no interest in teaching me anythingThe dogs in their classes, of which I attended weeks, did not progress even slightlyMost of their clients did not make it through the week programsPlease do not waste your moneyBuy some dog training books, go to shelters and practice on dogs that need helpIf you were meant to be a trainer, you will get itKeep practicing! Walk as many dogs as you canRead as many books as you canMake a business card when you get confidentDont charge as much at first until you get goodThe rest will take care of itselfCertainly dont waste your money for a certification in a business with no state or federally regulated certificationMake one on your computer, it will be worth just as much but save you 4000$!!!!!!!! I have since started my own business and am very busyMy clients are happy and so are their dogsBut the knowledge that helped me most came from trial and errorPractice and love for animalsNOT THIS CON-ARTIST institution
I'm a military spouse, but I hate traditional schools whether I'd been moving around or notIt was important to find a school that was convenient and I could learn at my own paceI've always wanted to open my own business somedayI'm an avid dog lover and pursuing a career as a professional dog trainer seemed so natural to meAfter doing some research online, I discovered ABCWhat I liked most about the program is The staff and instructors go out of their way to help you and make sure you're taken care of, and the curriculum itself is awesomeSpeaking of the curriculum, I found it challenging and had a lot of fun incorporating what I learned in the online portion of the program and my externshipThey even hired a trainer on for the externship half of my dog training certification so I wouldn't have to drive hours away! There were No excess classes to make you pay for something you don't need just so they can be fundedI liked this a lotI also like that if I have to relocate, I can still do what I love - train dogsIf I had a negative thing to say about the program, it would be that it's not for everyoneI don't mean that in a bad wayIt's just that if you're not a disciplined person, this program may not be for youOnline programs like this take disciplineYour success is totally up to you
