Animal Care of Gloucester

On July 1st we took our 7 year old dog to see Dr. Stiff because he was not acting like his normal self. She diagnosed him with Lymes disease and put him on meds. A few days later we brought him back because there was no change. She drew labs and sent one to Michigan to test his Thyroid. We were told that these lab results were vital and would determine alot, but it could take up to 2 weeks. During that time we were told to bring urine specimens which I did every day only to be told they weren't good enough because they were too dilute. I tried to make a follow up appointment, but they never returned my calls except for once when they told me she was booked up. We were forced to take him else where since he wasnt getting any better. New vet said they needed the lab results to determine next step. I called the old vet on July 19th only to be told they had his results in an unopened email since July 12th. 7 days witholding valuable information. 2 days later, 2 emergency room trips, the ER did xrays and determined he has cancer. A few hours later we had to put him down. Had we known those results, a treatment plan could have been made or possibly he wouldnt have had to suffer like he did. The office tried to offer me a reimursement of a little over *** the cost of the lab they never gave us the results for. I declined because we spent over *** seeking other treatment since they didn't respond to my numerous calls or emails asking for a follow up or the results of the labs.
