I had previously submitted a negative review regarding this company based on previous services. I have since spoken to management and worked out a satisfactory solution. I wanted to file this second review to report that while I did have a problem they did work with me to correct the problem. I am very satisfied with the fix.
I am thoroughly disgusted with this company (Animal Control Experts â ACE) and would not recommend them to anyone. In December of 2012 I had them to come out regarding squirrels in my attic. I was told I needed trapping and an exclusion which I paid them to do, a total of approximately $4000.00.
You would think that $4000.00 would take care of the problem at least for a few years. However, in December 2014 I was in my attic and discovered a dead squirrel. I called ACE and was told that they would be happy to come out but I would have to pay the inspection charge and trapping fees all over again.
I could not believe they would not even come and look to see if there was something wrong with the exclusion they had put up without me having to pay, because my warranty had expired. I was asked if I had not received anything in the mail regarding extending the warranty. I did not and the first time I ever heard of it was when I called in 2014.
I decided to call another company and I am glad that I did because I discovered that the material used by ACE was totally worthless. From the pictures I could see that it was bent and how squirrels could get into the attic. I was told that the material they used was not metal and would not do a very good job of keeping squirrels out. I went back and looked at my paperwork and it does not specify the type of material that would be used, only states "construction gap". Unfortunately I did not know enough about the process to be a good judge and relied on what I was told. I truly feel that I was ripped off. Also a second dead squirrel was found.
Additionally, the prices charged by this company are excessive compared to those I received after speaking to others. For example I was told that $4000.00 for trapping and an exclusion was EXCESSIVE. Even for trapping others gave me prices of $185, and $225 while ACE charges $325 for squirrels and $425 for raccoons (of course I was charged $425).
Had I known then what I know now I would not have used ACE. I am glad I decided to look at other companies. I have a quote of less than $10000 to completely redo the exclusion completed by ACE, with steal (imagine being told the material to be used). Also the inspection fee would be applied to the entire balance and I would receive a 3 year warranty.
Wow is all I can say and I am going to make sure that others know about my experience with Animal Control Experts (ACE) so they will not fall into the same trap that I did.
Consumers look elsewhere. It is difficult for me to believe that the title Experts in the name is anything but a misnomer
