I took my kitten to animal hospital as it sustained an eye injury( probably from playing with other cat) Dr [redacted] saw my cat and treated it with anti inflammatory eye dropsNo anitibiotics were givenA week later the eye had worsened and I was told the cats eye was destroyed and it would have to have eye surgeryAfter eye surgery no antibiotics nor pain medicines were givenI could see the eye was infected so I went to another vetShe gave me antibiotic liquid and pain medicine for the catShe wanted me to return to the 1st vet to tell him"it was unacceptable that he had not given my cat pain medicine and antibiotics after surgery"She told me "it is a standard of care that animals are given antibiotics after an eye injury" I believe that my cat would not have lost his eye if the vet had given him antibiotics after the initial eye injury.I also know that if he had given antibiotics after surgery, I would not have had to pay for another veterinary doctor to treat my cat
