I am rejecting this response because:Forced to trust your vetting which failed miserablyYour no refund policy is fine for a dog, not for a vicious dog that should never have been up for adoption Forced to pick another one or loose moneyI would strongly recommend people go with another organization

? I am rejecting this response because: I still have yet to see any law I have looked onlineAnd looked further for the MN lawI should get the full refund back since it was agreed she was a sick dog when they adopted her out to myselfThe only choices that I can come with is a full cash refundor allow me to adopt IVY back

Hello ***, Animal Humane Society (AHS) strives to provide all of our customers with a positive experienceThere are instances where an animal has an underlying or unknown behavioral concern Your experience with “***” is one of those unexpected casesI am sorry for that and understand the frustration that you have experienced In the effort to make adopters aware and prepare them for the possibility of an unknown challenge arising post-adoption, our adoption services team reviews all known medical and behavioral history and any evaluations performed while in our careWe also review with adopters that AHS is unable to make any guarantee of health or behaviorThe options available to you, should you find yourself faced with an unexpected medical or behavioral challenge are clearly outlined at the point of adoption and in the post adoption health confirmation fromIn the event a behavioral challenge arises or the pet selected is simply not the correct match for the home, AHS will provide an adoption and a credit voucher in the amount of the adoption fee to use towards the adoption of another pet, AHS does not reimburse adoption feesIn review of our records I see that the adoption credit voucher provided to you as above outlined has been used towards the adoption “***” on 3/6/Please let me know if I can be of any further assistanceSincerely, Pam [redacted] Animal Humane Society Manager of Shelter Services

We have reviewed the dog's records and shared with the customer that we had no reports of the dog being symptomatic while in shelter. The nature of the kennel cough virus is such that symptoms can present rather suddenly and, with some cases, progress rapidly without medical
intervention. We regret this development prompted the return of the dog and the customer was unable to have the positive adoption experience we hoped for. In conversation with the customer we have also further explained the veterinary practice law (MN Statute 156.12) that prevents Animal Humane Society or any MN shelter from adopting a pet back to the customer after treatment. We agree it is unfortunate that we cannot comply with the customer's request to re-adopt the dog but we must comply with the law to keep our licensure in good standing. It is our understanding the customer accepts this position and we have resolution in this case

If the customer prefers a refund instead of the credit voucher she was given, we will honor her request. The customer should expect a check in the mail within 10-days. If there are further questions regarding the statute, the customer is encouraged to contact the manager at our Woodbury site with whom she has been in contact with previously regarding this matter. We regret this has been a difficult experience for the customer and, in honoring the customer's request for a refund, it is our understanding this will bring the case to resolution

The manager of Animal Humane Society's Woodbury location has been in contact with the customer to discuss the dog's unexpected and unfortunate heartworm diagnosis and subsequent treatment expensesAn agreement was reached to refund the full adoption fee and the
customer should be receiving a check in the next few weeks

We deeply regret the poor service the customer received when calling Animal Humane Society with questions on his newly adopted cat's healthThe call should have been handled more professionally and promptly and, in this instance, we failed to live up to our normally high standard of customer
service. Since the notification we have been in contact with the customer to apologize and agree to reimburse the $as requested. Additionally, if the cat continues to need other medications, we may be able to provide support by filling prescriptions at Animal Humane Society
