My dog was bit by a rattlesnake Friday night in SmithvilleThis has never happened to me before so of course I panickedAfter looking up vets that are 24/7, I found Animal Medical Center onlineI called ahead thinking they need a head ups and talked to a girlI gave her all the details, what happened, when, what kind of dog I had, where I was located, etcShe immediately panicked (which did not help) and told me to bring my dog in for anti-venomWe jumped in the car, drove an hour and arrivedDuring which my dog was literally near deathUpon arrival, the people at the front were completely clueless and told me they had no anti venom and that I needed to drive to Cool Spring and it would be $5KOn top of that, they said they don't have anti-venom and that my dog "would get a lot worse than that"Thankfully, my dog survived but I will NOT recommend this placeIn fact, I will let everyone I know that this is the worst place I have ever been in contact withI let my hometown vet (who suggested I call you on the VM after hours) the situation and they have removed this recommendationI plan on telling all other vets in my town who suggest them to do the sameThank goodness my dog didn't dieThank for AMC for telling me to drive an hour, panicking on the phone and then informing me that you actually do NOT have the anti-venomBad move

When I read negative reviews about AMC, I'm really shockedI have taken my babjes here over the past yearsDawn, who handles the front desk management, is the most compassionate person, and one who truly loves my Max and Ted Yesterday, I had to say good bye to my y/o Shih tsu, Max, and without the empathy and compassion of this great place, I don't think I would have gotten through such a difficult decision
For those who had a negative experience, I just don't see itOur emotions are heavily tied to our animals, and when they hurt or are sick, it is so important to have a place to take your pets where you fully trust the skill, ability and see the love for animals that the entire staff has Thank you, AMC, for always being there for me and my fur babies!
