Initial Business Response /* (1000, 13, 2015/10/27) */
The dog that was pointed out on the internet to us was presumably identified at being Case number XXXXXXXXX brought in from O'Fallon, Mo animal control on 6/24/2015. This dog was in our care for from 6/24/2015 to 7/6/2015. On 7/6/2015 the dog...

was sent to All Paws rescue and was picked up and other than a questionable hair coat was apparently healthy.
We are sorry that they lost their dog; although their dog was lost on May 30. It was almost one month later than the dog in question was brought in. In their complaint they looked and didn't see their dog because at that time the dog was not here. It is our policy and always has been to if they come in to go into the shelter and look; because what they describe may be misinterpreted. The dog that was found didn't have any identification when it entered our facility. The dog was kept for over two weeks then sent to rescue.
The gentleman came to our facility a couple weeks ago and confronted Dr. [redacted]. At that time the gentleman was very upset and made many threats including physical assault on Dr. [redacted]. A that time he was asked to leave.
The gentleman sent a email to Wentzville city for more information on the case and to have it investigated. Sergeant [redacted] of the wentzville police contacted us for more information. At that time it was found that the dog was picked up by O'fallon animal control and the case was sent to O'Fallon. Ranger Bridges was sent to animal talk to investigate. Her investigation concluded that there was no wrongdoing on Animal talk's part. At this time the case was closed.
We are sorry that they didn't reconnect with their pet. Although we have lots of motivation to find pet their owner. We do not hid animals from their owners, we only try to take care of them while they are in our care and get them off to home when they are not claimed. We have worked hard to get these animal to rescue groups as an effort to be a no kill facility. I would encourage the owners to try and get a positive identification before pursuing further action, as mistakes in identity can be made without any source of definitive identification.
Due to many false claims by people on facebook there have been multiple investigations by Wentzville police and O'Fallon into the care provided to our animals. In all the investigation including one dog being taken to a third party vet, all the animal are well taken care of and their medical needs are being met. The police have 24hr access to the facility and can do inspections at any time. Our facility is clean and the animal are well fed and cared for. None of the allegation of mistreatment of animals have been proven.
Again we are sorry that this has happen, although as they have requested in their desired resolution the case was investigated by O'Fallon Animal control and the animal in our care are being well cared for and the organization's policies are correct. This has been verified by O'Fallon and Wentzville police departments.
