PMSubject: business complaintTo: [email protected] Revdex.com,We filed a complaint last month.  The ID number is [redacted].When I received an e-mail asking for further information I was given two choices1- resolved2- not contacted by companyI accidentally pushed the not contacted by company.  We were contacted by the company and received the supplies.  That part is true.  The unfortunate part is they still claim they are not in network with our insurance ([redacted]) and refuse to bill our company.  Our insurance (verified 4 times) claims they are part of our plan.  Even if they aren't our insurance would pay 50%.  The billing is vague and misleading.  They do not send us statements and the online is often incorrect (their words) and unclear.  We are at a standoff between the insurance and supplier.  We can't send the bill to insurance ourselves since we do not have one.  We are left with a huge medical bill which neither the insurance or animas will help.  So yes they sent supplies but no it is not resolved. [redacted]

Review: I order my pump supplies through Animas Corporation. I have an outstanding balance with them which I am fully aware of. My mother, [redacted] contacted Animas and made a payment of $353.00 dollars plus the 30 dollar fee to have my supplies overnighted on today 07/25/2013. So in total, we paid $383.00 dollars. Yesterday, 7/24/2013, my mother was told I would receive my full order but today, she was advised that because of my outstanding balance, I would only receive one box of cartridges and one box of infusion sets. Normally, I would receive four or five boxes of each per order. I then called Animas and spoke with the billing department to confirm if this order amount was true. I was advised that I would in fact receive one box of each due to my balance. I was also told that in order for me to start receiving my full order, I would have to get my balance down to $250.00 dollars or less. That means I would have to pay over $400 dollars the next time I place an order for my supplies. I completely understand that I owe money and I have every intent on paying my bill, the only problem I have is their complete lack of concern regarding my life. I depend on these supplies everyday. Without them, I can't use my pump. I haven't had my supplies for a couple months due to me not being able to pay them. The payment I made before this one, I was told I needed to pay more than $50 dollars. I could understand if this was a cell phone or something that didn't determine if I live or die, but this is critical. When I do not have my supplies, my blood sugar runs higher than normal because I am not getting insulin 24 hours a day as I do with the pump. I am aware they are a business, but what about a human life? There is no price tag on that and I am extremely disgusted with their lack of concern for my life and the other people who may be in the same boat as I am with Animas.Desired Settlement: I would like Animas to stop holding my supplies hostage and side with humility. I have every intention to pay my balance but I do not think my life should be at risk until it is done.

I concur! Animas has the worst customer care and quality control of any company I have ever experienced. Dealing with them for three years and never once, and let me reiterate, never once, have they ever accurately completed an order. They have no knowledge of processing insurance claims and horrible in-house communication.

Review: My daughter has type 1 diabetes and we have been using the Animas pump and supplies for the past 6 years. At the end of 2013 we needed to order a new pump for her as her old one was just worn out and the buttons no longer worked. My daughter needs the pump/insulin in order to LIVE, this is not an optional medical treatment. We ordered the pump and I filled out substantial paperwork and included the form for financial help because I am a single mother going to school and working part time. I included a copy of my taxes. I was called by Animas after they contacted my daughter's insurance and they stated that we were covered 100% for the new pump and therefore did not need to apply for financial assistance. Fast forward a month later...we get a bill for over $800 as our portion of what is due. I called Animas immediately (Nov 17th, 2013) and spoke with an agent and not getting anywhere so I asked for her supervisor. I then spoke with [redacted] who assured me that he would call me back within three days. It is now February 21, 2014. I have left NINE messages with Animas and also several for [redacted] with NO RETURN CALL and I keep getting the bill every month. Animas should have used the financial assistance paperwork if there was a balance. I did everything properly, someone else made the mistakes. The worst part is their neglect to even call me back. Animas customer service is AWFUL and unacceptable, especially because they are literally dealing with people's lives. We will not be getting my daughter's next pump from this company. They are overcharging for everything and taking advantage of people who have life-long illnesses...innocent children and their families and it is disgusting. Use any other company!Desired Settlement: I want the bills to stop and they need to write off the balance for the pump since this was not my mistake and I handed in the necessary documents.

Review: many time I have tried to order my insulin pump supplies from this company and there have been sever delays with orders, processing and recieving product. if I leave my credit card information with them, it is never charged and the shipment gets delayed even further. When I do call them and tell them I have paid, that is when they release the medical supplies to me, unfortunetly those supplies will not reach me until 2 more weeks after I have tried to work with them putting my life in danger from many complications associated with diabetes. I am now told by this company that I will have to order my supplies through a different company because they will not accept medicare and even though I am willing to pay from private funds, they will not send me my medical supplies unless I go through this other company. I am also frustrated at the billing department because when I last looked at my account on approxametly 5/1/14, it showed a balance of 801.36 which I did pay and have proof in the form of a bank statement, when I logged into my account today to check on a shipment, it showed a new balance of 561.16. I was under the assumption that I was paid off as that was what my account showed and I have not ordered any product since I payed off my balance.Desired Settlement: I want the current charges to be taken off my account and for them to fix all of the problems that they seem to be having and to figure out a way to ship on time and to stop putting peoples lives in danger for insurance problems or their own system. if someone is willing to pay with a doctors perscription but without insurance, than there should never be an issue.

Review: I placed an order for my son's diabetic pump supplies. I have contacted Animas numerous times asking where the supplies are. The first time I called they said they were having a hard time verifying insurance, yet NO ONE called us about the delay. The order had been been placed for a week so I called to check the status and that's the only reason I found out what was going on. I explained that my son was getting low on supplies and that this really needed to be addressed. After 3 more days, there was still an issue. They said they had sent in an authorization request, yet I contacted our insurance company and they had received NOTHING!! I have tried calling since then and get nothing but a message saying to leave a message because they are experiencing high call volume. I have left messages as well as sent an e-mail. I have gotten NO response. I received 2 infusion sets yesterday in the mail which I guess is supposed to make everything ok. Well each infusion set lasts 3 days, so that will not do much. My real issue is the fact that NO ONE has had the decency to contact me to keep us apprised of the what's going on. This is not something to mess around with! This is my son's life we're talking about!! When the opportunity arises, we will no longer go with Animas for our Insulin Pump needs.Desired Settlement: Ultimately I would like for my son's supplies to be delivered and to never have this issue again.

Review: I am an insulin dependent diabetic who relies on a pump to keep my blood sugar levels regular. Because of the criticality of the pump supplies that deliver insulin to my body, I make sure to order them well before I run out so that my pump does not become inoperable which could have very dangerous consequences. Most recently, I ordered new supplies, through my insurance provider the first week of March with the expectation that the supplies would arrive within a few weeks. I received a confirmation email on 3/15/14 indicating that my supplies had been sent. They were promptly delivered on 3/18/14 at which point I realized that Animas, had erroneously sent me double of one item (reservoirs) and none of another (infusion sets) instead of sending what I had ordered which was part of each. After receiving this package, I quickly tried to call and inform them of the mistake at which point I found that they were closed (after navigating through their automated answering maze). I then tried again several days later when I could find time during their open hours and spent about 30 minutes more of my time trying to help them understand the problem. The representative was rude but said she would send out the correct merchandise and instructions for returning the extra. I received shipping confirmation on 3/26/14 but unfortunately found that they had only sent my a return label and generic instructions for me to take the return items to a [redacted] dropbox under the assumption that I would find a box to send it in. I did not know how much of the product to return nor did I have any information to show what they had billed my insurance. Frustrated, I emailed them and indicated that I was near running out of critical supplies and requested that they send me a rush order of the correct supplies and better instructions about how to return and make sure that my insurance company was refunded and/or correctly billed. That email was submitted through their web site about one week ago and I have heard no response.

Their inability to provide me with critical health supplies as ordered is inexcusable and could likely result in legal ramifications well beyond a Revdex.com complaint if I suffer adverse health effects due to me running out of these supplies.Desired Settlement: Overnight the correct supplies that I critically need and provide better instructions of how much to return and provide a return box as this all was due to an ANIMAS error.

Review: PLACED ORDER FOR ITEMS AND PAID FOR 3 DAY SHIPPING. AFTER 8 DAYS, I CONTACTED COMPANY WHO ADVISED THEY WOULD CALL ME BACK. AFTER 10 DAYS I STILL HAD NOT RECIEVED CALL BACK AND CONTACTED COMPANY AGAIN. THEY ADVISED THE ITEM HAD SHIPPED AND I WOULD RECIEVE A REFUND FOR SHIPPING COSTS SINCE COMPANY CLEARLY DID NOT MEET SHIPPING DATES WITHIN REASON. I WAS TOLD I WOULD RECIEVE A CALL REGARDING THE REFUND. DID NOT RECIEVE CALL REGARDING REFUND. RECIEVED ITEMS 16 DAYS AFTER ORDER DATE. CONTACTED COMPANY AND WAITED ON HOLD FOR 40 MINUTES. WAS TRANSFERED TO ANOTHER DEPARTMENT WHO FIRST ARGUED THAT I WAS NOT CHARGED FOR SHIPPING AND THEN ADVISED ANOTHER DEPARTMENT WOULD HAVE TO MAKE THE REFUND. PLACED ON HOLD FOR AN ADDITIONAL 30 MINUTES AND THE ISSUE WAS NEVER RESOLVED.Desired Settlement: REFUND AS REQUESTED.

Review: I contacted Animas Corp. service representative by telephone on Wednesday, June 16th, 2013 to order insulin pump supplies, as online ordering system was not working correctly. After placing my order, I informed the representative that my insurance would be expiring as of June 30th, 2013. Representative informed me that supplies would be shipped well before insurance expired, so there should be "no problem". I have been a customer of Animas Corp. for at least 8 years and my insulin pump supplies have, without exception, always been shipped within 5-7 business days. On this particular occasion, however, my supplies were held back and not shipped until the day after my insurance ended, thereby leaving me responsible for paying the full $695.00 cost of supplies. When I called the billing department at Animas Corp. the representative I spoke with informed me that, after listening to the recording of the conversation of June 16th, they have determined that

I "never mentioned that my insurance would be ending on June 30th", that they were "well within their time frame" to ship the supplies on July 1st., and that I would be held responsible for paying the full cost of supplies unless I returned them. Unfortunately, returning them was not an option for me due to my medical condition. I am absolutely, 100% certain that I informed the representative of when my insurance would expire when I ordered my supplies, as it was a concern of mine. I contend that Animas Corp. purposely withheld shipment until the day after my insurance expired in order to collect the full cost of the supplies from me, rather than the partial payment from my insurance company. I also contend that when questioned about this matter, they lied to me in stating that I never informed them of the insurance expiration date.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the $695.00 that Animas will be billing me for, or at the very least a partial repayment. I would also like other Animas consumers to be made aware of their unethical practices.

Review: I have attempted or order diabetes pump supplies for my teenage daughter for the last 3 weeks. Their website was down for over a week as well not allowing online ordering. I tried to call but have been on hold for over 20min each time. The order was placed on 5/5/14 and has been pending ever since. I have left messages to have a manager call without any success.Desired Settlement: I would like someone to contact me immediately to resolve the issue as we cannot order the pump supplies from anyone else.

Review: We have called for 19 days now and spoken with multiple customer service individuals who have promised multiple delivery dates that have not happened. My wife began calling on April 24, 2014 and the phones were down. She was unable to speak to someone until May 2, 2014. The online store was down as well. She was prompted to send an email if it was an emergency. To this day she has not had a response. My wife called again tonight at 7:30 pm and was put on hold until after 8 pm and then prompted to a voice mail because their customer service lines cut off at 8 pm. Today was the second broken promise delivery date and my daughter is getting extremely low on pump supplies. For the type of supplies they provide there is no sense of urgency or accountability.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome is to have my daughters diabetic pump supplies delivered overnight. I think Animas should write off what our insurance does not pay for the stress they have put my family through because of their negligence.

Review: I am a type 2 diabetic trying to sign into an online account with Animas to pay my bill and order supplies. I spent two hours of my time on 03/29/2013 trying to acquire assistance, to no avail did I receive any assistance.Desired Settlement: I feel they owe me money for my time wasted trying to contact them, plus for being hung up on three times. Working full time, going to college full time and taking care of an ill family member full time is exhausting. Then to pay someone money for a product and supplies, plus they emphasize their high quality of customer service, which they are open Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm est., it must be nice to work bankers hours when people need assistance 24/7. All I simply want is a credit of $40.00 for my time wasted on the phone on 3/29/2013. If they are going to charge me for poor service then they need to pay me back for my time.

Review: In March we signed up for auto-renewal of the necessary supplies for an insulin pump. When no confirmation was received after 2 weeks we started calling the customer service number. We have been on hold for up to and over 70 minutes at a time, been disconnected and been told that the computers were not working and to call back. Now we are desperate for supplies. Per our auto renewal agreement they should have been delivered last week. I fear our insurance company will not let us purchase a pump form another company at this point. We need the supplies and I'd like to know if this is an ongoing issue? (this is my husbands first time using the pump and if we can't get supplies it was obviously the wrong choice to go with an Animas pump). If I am not able to,order and receive supplies, why is Animas allowed to sell the pumps?Desired Settlement: I want the supplies delivered ASAP, no explanation, no apology, just the supplies we tried to order months ago.

Review: Invoice for date of service 4/10/12. $540.00 charge. Animas did not respond to insurance request for additional information within the time allowed. Animas should write off the $540 charge. Instead, they are keeping $285.47 that I have already paid and writing off the balance. Also, on the same date of service, a charge for $146.00 is being billed to me but insurance has directed them to bill my pharmacy.

Date of service 7/5/12 Animas is again billing me $146 instead of my pharmacy.Desired Settlement: Animas should write off the 4/10/12 charge for $540 and apply my payments to a balance I have for 7/5/12.

4/10/12 $146 charge should be billed to my pharmacy

7/5/12 $146 charge should be billed to my pharmcy

Review: I was contacted by Animas and informed that my old insulin pump was out of warranty. I agreed to work with Animas; as long as the charges out of pocket were no more than the $130.00 estimate I had been given. This was critical because I was about to leave my current employer, and therefore run out of insurance and HCRA account monies to pay for my health care. I received the pump in late May, and have not opened the box.

I was contacted last week and informed I owed over $700.00 on the pump I have just received. This was due to the fact that they processed the whole contract under the assumption that I would be turning in the old pump, which I never agreed to. I no longer have that older pump, and when I asked to return the new pump kit, I was told I could not since I was over the 30 day return period.

The price agreed upon was never to include an old pump. The company did not even contact me about any billing issues until AFTER the 30 day return period had expired.Desired Settlement: I would simply like to return the entire kit and get all of the monies out of pocket I have spent returned to me.

Review: I purchased a One Touch Ping insulin pump from Animas on 1-15-2010. It has now malfunctioned and they have advised it needs to be replaced. Despite their warranty of "(4) years from the date of purchase by the original purchaser", they are stating that it is out of warranty and I must purchase a new pump.Desired Settlement: I would like my son's insulin pump replaced

Review: I received an order from [redacted] of faulty infusion sets manufactured by Animas. [redacted] informed me they could not replace faulty infusion sets and to go through Animas who manufactures them. After TERRIBLE customer service I received a box and shipping label and was asked to return the bad infusion sets. The infusion sets were returned promptly and delivered on 6/23/14 ([redacted]).

After calling Animas to ask why I have not received replacements I was given the run around by several employees including a supervisor. My five year old needs her medical supplies so that she can continue to live and thrive. This company is impeding my efforts to do so in an unethical way.Desired Settlement: I want this company to honor their products and replace my daughters 13 faulty infusion sets in an overnight delivery.
