Review: On Friday, 03/25/16 @ 5:00 pm, I was given a hair appointment with a Level 1 hair tech named '[redacted]' (late 40's-early 50's; short blonde hair, thin). My hair length was past the middle of my back (past my bra strap about two inches). I showed the woman two color pictures of long hair with shaping/layers considered to be a 'Lob'- meaning- long-haired bob. I specifically asked her- do you have experience with a ‘Lob?’ She said cheerily- ‘Yes!’ To consult, she grabbed the end of my hair that framed my face (which fell about halfway on my bicep), and stated, 'This front layer, I'm not going to touch these because its already shorter & so you want to keep the length of your hair beyond this?' -indicating the rest of my hair. I stated, 'Yes, I have been growing my hair out for three years and want to keep it long. I just want it shaped like the photo with the few layers in the back.' She then put her palm/pinky-facing my back, placing her hand about an inch above my bra strap. She said, "I will start the first layer here, is that ok?" Thinking she understood the photos, I agreed. She washed my hair in the normal protocol. I had removed my glasses and kept them off the duration she combed out my hair and proceeded to cut. Feeling relaxed from the hair massage and 'blind as a bat' with my glasses off, I closed my eyes for about minute while she combed my hair and snipped away. When I opened my eyes, I noticed by the shadow of the hair she had already cut off the back- it looked short. Really short! I asked her if I could put on my glasses? She said sure... & when I put my glasses back on- I realized she had cut off OVER six inches of my long hair. The 'first' layer of hair was not an inch above my bra strap where she had placed her palm- but an inch below the nape of my neck- with another angled layer an inch or two past my collar bone. The face layers she first claimed 'She would not cut/touch’- were cut! and the rest of my hair was GONE. I was shocked and horrified. I silently tried to calm myself, thinking “It’s just hair; it will grow back. Don’t make a scene.” By this time [redacted] had stopped cutting and told me she wanted to blow dry the hair to finish shaping/cutting. I nodded and sat for about a minute as she blow dried my hair. I continued to try to calm myself and gather my feelings. But then I started to shake, I couldn’t breathe and I realized I was having a panic attack. I immediately told [redacted] to stop. I told [redacted] I was having a panic attack and we needed to go somewhere to talk privately with a manager. She said, “oh- ok, what’s wrong?” I told her she cut off too much; and I was having a panic attack and we needed to talk to someone; a manager. She left me to go find someone; and as I sat there I tried to catch my breath and calm down. I could not, so I grabbed a handful of wet hair that had been cut off- off the floor-and went to the front desk. A young, dark haired woman introduced herself as the front desk manager and said no one was available to talk to me. I asked, “is there a private room we can go to so we don’t make a scene?” She ushered [redacted] and I to a back office to the left; where I showed the young woman the pictures. I remember [redacted] stating she was sorry and ‘We were obviously not on the same page’ about my hair cut- and the young woman asked her to leave the room. Once [redacted] left, I my panic attack was full blown. I stated ‘I just need to get out of here, I am so humiliated that all of my hair is gone’. She assured me I wouldn’t have to pay for these services and apologized & said she didn’t know what to do in this situation. I apologized to her for being so upset and I said again how humiliated I felt that all my hair was gone. The young woman empathized and gave me the manger’s business card and assured me that person would contact me on Tuesday, 03/29/16 when she returned from vacation. Today is 03/30/16- and no one has contacted me about this.Desired Settlement: This tech, [redacted], obviously misrepresented her work experience and skills. The loss of over six inches of my natural hair needs to be replaced in the form of a hair piece or extensions. Due to the lack of communication from the salon's manager (as promised by the desk clerk) shows that [redacted] or that desk clerk misrepresented that I would have someone address my horrible customer service experience. I expect the manager or owners to take accountability for those they employ- to make sure they have the work experience to carry-out what a person asks for in a hair style. I had a panic attack and was humiliated by the injustice of my hair being chopped off- when I just wanted to look nice for the Easter holiday. Taken from their website: “There's one thing that creates the ultimate challenge in this business — the mirror. Our results speak for themselves — we c[redacted]ot lie, we c[redacted]ot cheat. The result of our work is immediately obvious. Either the customer likes the results, or doesn't. That creates a lot of pressure, but that's also good because it brings out the best in our staff. For us, success is in the details and the experience.”

I had a horrible experience and expect it to be rectified. Thank you for your time.
