Ann Aaron Contracting & Roofing Reviews (%countItem)

Due to poor communication and lack of follow through, I cannot recommend Ann Aaron Roofers until repairs are made to problem shingles that were identified the day after installation.
Further, I tried to get the roofer to come inspect the property before the day of work (or weeks before) to discuss the job and expectations. That never happened despite several attempts on my part to get them to come. For instance, the shingles were not ordered until the day of the job because they were unsure of the exact measurements.
First, I was disappointed that they did not strip the old roof down entirely. I caved to the idea that it would help prevent leaks by having another layer. My initial concern was about areas that needed replacement and factoring that in to the cost. I had to inspect and ask for several soft spots in the roof to be repaired with new wood. That is part of the problem when the old roof underlayment is not removed. You cannot see the wood rot. Regardless, I walked the roof and pointed out the wood rot areas. They repaired them but if I had not personally done this it would have been overlayed with new shingles. This is why I wanted a walk through inspection before the job started.
Second and most important, after the job was done, I noticed cracks in many parts of the ridges. Also there were areas on the roof corners that were installed too close to the edge. In one area there is not more than an inch overhang. My garage has this on two corners.
*** indicated that this was a problem with the manufacturer of the shingles and she would file a warranty. But there is also reason to believe during installation the shingles were bent too far and resulted in cracks. Shingles were installed in March 2018 and I have been asking for problem areas to be repaired since that time. Rarely are calls returned and never has the necessary information to file the warranty been provided (not even after the payment was rendered). From day one this roof has not been right and I can get no help to repair problem areas.

I’m working with him, at our expense.

Complaint: ***
The company has been extremely helpful of late in obtaining paper work necessary for the warranty. I have all items in hand but one now--shingle sample.

However, I do not intend to close the case until areas of concern on the roof are addressed: first, the locations where shingles were installed too close to the drip edge; second, the finalization of workmanship following the response from GAF on the warranty claim that is dependent on providing a sample of affected areas. I am grateful that AnnAaron agreed to help provide a sample.

Waiting for business to help remove and send shingles to the manufacturer to finalize warranty process. It should be noted that this began the day after the installation was complete and is not an arbitrary warranty claim. The installer/business recommended this approach.

We inspected the roof again on Monday and found it in very good condition with the exception of a section of ridge shingles on the garage that do seem to have a slight defect, but not one that is affecting the integrity of the roof in anyway. The homeowner was on the roof with us and agreed, but was mainly concerned about how the condition of those few shingles would deteriorate over time. We explained many things he didn't understand. We removed the sample requested by the manufacturer and shipped them overnight at our expense. At this point he is pleased.

A huge thank you to Ann Aaron Productions for the roofs on our pool house and storage building at Rio Brazos Property Owners Association! Great company to work with and the crew did a great job and cleaned up everything afterwards!
