From: [redacted] Port Townsend WA 98368
To: Revdex.com Resolution Consultant [redacted] Subject: Response to File # [redacted]
Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the assertions by Mr....

[redacted] regarding the Ann Starrett Mansion Hotel.
We categorically deny every assertion as unfounded and false.
Mr. [redacted], after several phone calls and emails to reserve the Garden Cottage, could not commit to specific dates. Rational thought is that an accommodation cannot reserve or guarantee accommodations unless one starts with a specific date.
The Hotel requires an advance payment by check for long-term visitors. Mr. [redacted] did not confirm any particular dates with an advanced payment. In the meantime, since occupancy at the hotel is fluid and changes every day or even hourly Mr. [redacted]'s original request was not available. When Mr. [redacted] was finally ready to commit, he was informed that the Cottage requested was no longer available for his specific dates but we could accommodate him in the Carriage Room, which is located right across the Cottage and therefore easy to move his belongings for 5 nights until the cottage did become available.
There was no conspiracy to defraud rather it was accommodating a guest in need of accommodation for a specific date and time. Not once did this young healthy looking man say that he was handicapped in any way. In fact the room Mr. [redacted] moved into is handicapped accessible because it has it's own outside entrance leading to a driveway and handicapped people park there to unload their luggage. Once again, the subject to carry his bags never came up otherwise it would have been suggested to Mr. [redacted] to drive his car onto the drive way. It seems with each new correspondence there are new unfounded allegations.
The dollar amount charged was for the combination of room and cottage based on a monthly rate rather than a nightly room rate in order to accommodate Mr. [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] with his advance payment of a check finally confirmed this Room/Cottage arrangement; therefore, no rate adjustment to Mr. [redacted] is owed. Our web site clearly states that there is no refund for an early departure so there is no refund due.
In addition, we inform our entire long-term guest to include the Cottages, and that includes Mr. [redacted], that Wifi in Historic Uptown is not always reliable on demand. Our guests are advised if they need a reliable on demand secure source for business, they should procure their own private source, such as a mobile hotspot.
R[redacted], the Innkeeper has been in our employ since 2004, obviously not retired, and has
never been accused of any dishonesty and the same applies to the housekeeper who cleaned his room on a weekly basis.
As stated in a previous letter, Mr. [redacted]'s room was thoroughly searched immediately after his move to the cottage to include the dirty laundry and garbage in an attempt to locate his alleged missing small hygienic item and some pills wrapped in tin foil. As for tasting the juice, Mr. [redacted] requested that his cottage should not be cleaned without his presence and rational thought to include common sense tells me no employees snuck back into his cottage to taste his juice.
Be assured that Innkeeper R[redacted] forwarded Mr. [redacted]'s complaints and did discuss the situation with Dr. [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] was not present in those instances. Obviously, however there must have been an unpleasant altercation with the [redacted]'s in light of Mr. [redacted]'s remark as he passed Mr. [redacted]'s Window. I might add that no complaint was filed by previous guests regarding Dr. [redacted] and her husband who was a weekend visitor.
It's possibly a chance that Mr. [redacted] seems to be sound sensitive because a small quiet fan in the bedroom wall heater was disconnected for his comfort. I might add that was a first in our history of 28 years of inn keeping to have such an unpleasant altercation between guests.
Mr. [redacted]'s mistaken observation of tired or retired innkeepers and his criticism of whom we rent to or the duration of our guests stay is irrational, irrelevant and bordered on silly.
Mr. [redacted] freely admits that he has had bad experiences (plural) at other hotels so this might be an indication of his previous challenging interpersonal relationships regarding transit accommodation.
Sincerely,
Robert S[redacted], Owner
