Annandale Liberty

Review: This is a complaint involving three natures of issues including (1) inferior repair that did not resolve original problem, (2) practice that led to additional damages, (3) failure to honor a repair estimate or agreement as a result that arose from unauthorized repair, which increased the amount from original repair receipt of $875.38 to the new amount on payment receipt of $966.38.

I had failed the VA state safety inspection at the shop. After the mechanic told me that the parking brake light must be corrected before the vehicle could pass the exam, I agreed to fix the problem to pass the inspection. After the repair, the mechanics left the car's sunroof open in the rain that caused water damage inside the car--for which I have the handwritten statement from the cashier. Also, the parking brake light was still not working even after I paid $966 and after I picked up the car. When I returned to the shop, the mechanics and the inspector kept repeating that something else must be wrong with the car--without even looking at the car--and also repeated saying, only then, that parking brake light problem would not prevent a car from passing the inspection--in contrast to what the inspector had told me prior to the repair. I requested either to have parking brake light corrected or to receive my money back, but both requests were rejected. Because I would not have spent $966 unless the inspector and the mechanic conspired to make me believe that it was necessary to spend $966 to pass the inspection and that spending $966 would correct the problem with the parking brake light, I want to get the money back from the shop. Also, I would like to receive additional $50 for the money I had to spend in cleaning up the car after the car had been left in the rain with sunroof open. I have a recording of the conversation taken while the mechanics were aware of it and a hand writing from a cashier who looked to verify the water damage to my car at the time of pickup.Desired Settlement: (1) Refund of full amount I paid to Annandale Liberty OR payment by Annandale Liberty of full repair bill amount to another repair shop--to where I will take my car and fix the problem that Annandale Liberty failed to fix; AND

(2) Reimbursement of $50 that I spent on water damage OR letter of hand-written apology that is at least 3 pages long; AND

(3) Refund of difference between originally promised amount of $875.38 and the forcefully requested amount of $966.38, which I had to pay in order to pick-up the car ($91).
