Anna's Tailoring Reviews (2)

Message: I would like to take some time to not only clear up a few things but to also try and express our side of the story. I apologize for the delay. As I mentioned when calling Mrs. [redacted] I am recovering from a surgery and have been out of sorts for the past...

month.First of all, I am [redacted]. I never before my phone call spoke to this lady or dealt with her in any way therefor I would kindly appreciate if assumptions on who did what where left unsaid. Second off, there is quit a gap between what my mother, [redacted], states that the dress in question was in and that that the lady says. This is a blatantly a matter of option. You say the dress is green, she says it's teal... For example. What I would like to stress the most is that we NEVER and I truly mean NEVER since opening in 1994 and the ten years prior in our first location have ever refereed to the work we do as an hourly fee. That's not in question at all. The lady stated that I, but I believe she was talking of my sister-in-law [redacted], stated a twenty dollar an hour fee- For the work we do. [redacted] says she did not say that and I have to be honest I without question believe her. That's is not the way we do things, not how we view or as them. I do apologize that a mistake was made on the white dress and I own that error completely. My mother made a mistake. She screwed up. Simple as that. They both claim that the other spoke to them in a nasty manner. Hostility between the two of them apparently transpired. I don't know what happened specificly, I wasn't there nor was I involved at all before now but I do apologize for that as well. It's not an excuse but there is a huge language barrier and I have witnessed my mother getting very frustrated at her inability to express herself clearly. This is why when I called her to apologize I told her we will refund her money. - some of her money, not all. I can't nor will I waste my time elaborately discribing all that goes into fixing garments. Sadly [redacted] viewed it as some easy- peasy, ten minute- what's the big deal type of project and because of that upon returning $50.00 of your money we graciously ask you not come back. There are plenty of other tailors in this city. Coming from contain seems like a hike. Best regards and again I'm sorry you wre left u satisfied with our work.[redacted]

Monica did refund me my $140 for the alterations that were clearly not up to par as she should have considering they were ruined! At the time I took both mine and my daughters dress back to her at her request, she stated herself "I don't know what she was thinking" as soon as she looked at the awful alterations. She proceeded to take out all of the stitching and darts to both dresses to see if there was something else that could be done. She also stated the reason for the much too short hem was because "the seamstress did not take into effect the 1" straps that were to be taken in when cutting the dress". I was told "there is nothing more we can do" to either dress! The reason I had to spend additional time and money on a new dress and alterations ONE WEEK BEFORE MY WEDDING was due to their negligence. If they were not able to complete the desired alterations, they should have stated that when I originally went to them. They did not and here we are. It is quite the slap in the face that all Monica thinks she is responsible for is the cost of the "RUINED" dress. The dress I ended up with was NOT the dress I intended on wearing the day of my wedding, but a dress I had to settle for...a very expensive settle at that! I had to buy off the rack since there was no time for a new dress my size to be ordered and therefore alterations were extremely expensive...not to mention the new seamstress had to RUSH them which added additional cost!
Monica also mentioned the day I returned with the dresses that she is very stressed out that this keeps happening and she has to deal with all of the complaints. I am obviously not the only one unhappy with their work. She said the female seamstress has "checked out" and "the old man" just needs to retire. "They need to relinquish more to her and get out of the business". While I do feel sorry that Monica has to endure the grunt of the other 2 individuals at the shop,I still feel more needs to be done here! I never would have had to spend the additional $1225.93 if it were not for them. Thank you
