I received a written complaint today from your office referencing the above ID #[redacted].  [redacted] applied for a loan to purchase a car from us on...

7/8/14.  On 7/15/14 we received an application from her co-signor and were able to proceed with the purchase.  On 7/16/14 we completed the purchase of the Aspen.  As we were going into my office to sign the loan documents, the other party walked the vehicle closely and drove it with [redacted].  He then asked me to replace the 2 rear tires and 1 small piece on the passenger front door.  Even though we had already agreed to terms, I agreed to the last minute request.  We completed the paperwork and she purchased the Aspen and an extended service contract that covered parts of the vehicle for 5 years or up to an additional 100,000 miles with a $250 deductible.  Our vehicles at that time came with a 3 month/3,000 mile limited powertrain warranty that covers the internally lubricated parts of the engine, transmission and drive-train with a $100 deductible.  We had the door part and the tires installed the next day per our agreement.  I was out of town with my family on vacation the first week of August and returned to work on Monday the 11th and received a note on my desk with several items hand written on a notepad from a radiator store in Tallahassee.

These problems were not found during the initial inspection.  We have found that in the past a 3rd party mechanic thinks a used car lot is an open checkbook and will overinflate the “problems” to pad their bill.  The “repair bill” was not on an actual State of Florida repair shop estimate and didn’t break down the parts and labor.  These items were never brought up on her test rides and she was able to have the vehicle inspected prior to purchase but did not do so.  I called her that Monday and spoke to her and told her to make an appointment with the mechanic that inspected the vehicle for us, [redacted] ###-###-####.  She met with him later that week and he instructed her he could complete the warranty work if she paid the $250 deductible.  She then called me and complained and said we were just like [redacted] Motors that is across the street and that our warranty was as bad as theirs.  She had previously purchased another vehicle from them a few months prior and was unhappy with it also.  I told her I didn’t appreciate her saying that.  My wife and I have owned 2 businesses since 2001 and have always had a perfect score with Revdex.com and take it very seriously.  She then raised her voice and continued to speak over me because she wanted me to pay the entire repair bill.  The vehicle passed all of the inspections required for our warranty to be able to be sold.  She was mad that I wouldn’t continue making repairs to a used vehicle.  The warranty will take care of most of her concerns but she then threatened to call Revdex.com and then hung up on me.  I am sorry she feels this way, I did the best I could for her, but unfortunately I can’t please 100% of the people 100% of the time.  I hope Revdex.com understands the situation and takes our response to it with as must importance as we do.

I am attaching the estimate she provided, the WE OWE agreement for the 2 tires and a copy of her extended service contract.

Thank You,
