This statement alleges the customer was not aware they were signing up with a new company and there was no response to their request to cancel.  We would like to assure you that our customers are our number one priority and we take the appropriate actions to ensure each customer's understanding...

of their agreement.  On the date of the customer's installation, January 18th 2018, 2017, the customer signed their agreement electronically.  As a best practice by our representative, the representative explained the agreement term and monthly monitoring rate, following the representative's explanation there was a recorded call, during which the customer confirmed the following:    The customer acknowledged they understood the terms of the agreement The customer acknowledged they understood that it was their responsibility to cancel their agreement with their previous company in accordance with the terms of that agreement The customer acknowledged that no one from our company stated or implied that their previous security company was or is going out of business The customer acknowledged that our company is in no way affiliated with the customer's previous company.     To further verify the customer was provided with documentation that was signed acknowledging that the customer was aware they were signing an agreement with a new company and would be receiving 6 free months of monitoring.  The free months provided were to give the customer ample time to ensure they canceled their agreement with their previous monitoring company. The document was reviewed and signed the day of installation.   The statement also alleges that the customer was not responded in regards to a request to cancellation.  He customer received written communication in regards to their cancellation.  The response they received is copied below:   Dear [redacted], My Name is Ria S[redacted] and I am the Office Coordinator here at Anthem Alarm. I am responding to the notice of cancellation request that was requested on February 8th, 2018. The cancellation requests alleges reason for service not provided after being requested, after researching your account we were not made aware of any system issues since the point of installation. In our phone conversation on February 16th, 2018 I offered to schedule service which was declined. I also offered for your agreement term to be reviewed by our retention department which you have also declined. The request to cancel was made after your 3 days right of rescission, therefore we cannot terminate your agreement at this time without penalty. In order to proceed with your cancellation request we require 90% of the agreement to be paid in full. Attached you will find a copy of your closing call. I greatly appreciate you affording our organization the opportunity to respond.   The customer is currently past their 3 days right of rescission.  If the customer would still like to move forward with cancellation they have the right to do so as stated within their agreement once 90% of the stated terms has been received

[redacted] Sincerely, [redacted] I still think that I should have the account cancelled because of the business practices that were given to me.  Yes, I was sick and didn't really understand what the terms and amount of money I was signing up for.  I was not sufficiently explained to me.  My husband did not understand either.  He's hard of hearing and doesn't hear most things right.  He thought it was Protection One at first too.  This company gave me very poor service.  Alot of what I didn't realize until after the three days were up.  They used the Protection One equipment, didn't install new equipment, didn't even offer to.  I had previously had a two way connection with Protection One where I could talk to someone by voice through the wall panel with the alarm company when an alarm went off.  This was not the case with this company.  When the first alarm went off, they called me on the phone to ask me if I was okay.  My old wall panel was old and they should have updated it with a new service.  They didn't even offer.  Overall, their  practices made it very vague what they were really doing and why.  I'm requesting still that my service be cancelled without penalty because of their negligence. Thank you.  Keep advised.
