The claim originally came in as an out of network claim. A check was issued to Mr***. Mr*** was responsible to pay the provider of services. On January 8, 2016, the provider of services submitted an inquiry to Anthem advising of in-network status. The claim was
adjusted to pay in-network and paid to the provider as contracted. Mr*** contacted Anthem Customer Service on February 18, advising the original check was cashed and used for other bills. The Customer Service representative provided Mr*** with the number to Anthem Collections to possibly set up a payment plan. It is appropriate for Mr*** to return the original payment to Anthem

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: Again, your request for receipts that contain information concerning the specifics of a medical treatment is unacceptable. The wellness card intent has been misrepresented buy wanting information your not authorized to be granted, and now mentioning the IRS. Please take the balance of my card, void the card in my possession, and refrain from "offering" any to me in the future. I trust this matter although unresolved to my satisfaction will end all future communications from your so called "watchdog" motoring contractor
Regards,

Right to request receipts
Your card is designed to work at both healthcare merchants and
non-healthcare merchants. Many of the non-healthcare merchants have a
healthcare inventory approval system in place (IIAS) that allows them to
determine if purchased items are...

eligible at the point of sale. Since this
inventory system will only allow you to purchase eligible items with your card,
you will not need to provide receipts or other documentation to substantiate
the eligibility of your purchases. Additionally, this inventory system allows
for a more standard set of eligible items from merchant-to-merchant. As long as
you are shopping at a retailer which has a healthcare inventory system in
place, your card transactions will be approved for the eligible items
Receipts
You should retain all of your itemized receipts and
documentation. If requested, the IRS or the Service Benefit Plan may need
additional information, including receipts, to verify eligibility of the
expense and comply with IRS rules. That’s why it’s important for you to save
all receipts and fax or mail them in promptly when requested. If you do not
submit documentation or the documentation is not for an eligible purchase, we
will not be able to approve those expenses, and you may have to reimburse your
account. If you fail to do so, you could jeopardize the tax-exempt status of
your account and lose access to your card.

###-###-####.

I recently received a letter in my daughters name informing me that someone somehow has used my daughters information. Basically stolen her identity. When I called to resolve this issue to place my daughter under a protection services, no one was able to help me. I continued to be transfer, being promised every time that the next representative could help me only to be transferred again. I was on the phone for what seem forever never getting the help I was needing. The whole processed was nerve wrecking and it had me in tears. I even asked the representative what was this company doing to prevent this from occurring in the future and there was no response. After an hour and 30 minutes or so I hung up in tears. Never getting the help I needing. this company should be more proactive in protecting their clients information. My daughter is 10 years old and I have to figure out a way to get this off her record. The representatives were horrible and not one of let's say 7 representatives were able to help me.

I've only had Anthem for about a yr. now, I pay almost $700.00 a month I've had several claims, pharmacy and medical and this company always pays almost nothing, I'm 64, have had insurance through the workplace since I was 18, and this is by far the worst company I've ever dealt with.

Anthem BlueCross BlueShield is the worst insurance company ever. Every-time, I have contacted them, they transfer me to different places and get nowhere. Consistently raising my rates with poor service. When I signed up they told me my rate would lower after a year, due to not having insurance prior, which is fine, but they instead raised my rates after a year. I called and they could not do anything about it.
Trying to cancel my service now and they have had me on hold for more than an hour. Gave me one number to start 855-330-1093. Waited for 30 minutes. Then agent came on the line and said to try this number 1-800-318-2596 for the marketplace. Was on hold with this number for 45 minutes. Once I received a representative, they are telling me that they cannot find my info, even after giving my ssn.
I have had enough and recommend never to use Anthem

Anthem is getting bad. I got insurance when 18 for the same reason most get it, incase I need it. I am now 34 and my insurance started at $120 and is now $798 a month. I have [redacted] diagnosed with sleep apnea for 8 yrs now and no problems except minor until the last 2 yrs and now for the past 6 months it's getting more and more difficult to get my prescriptions. I take 2 provigil a day when most take 1 a day. That's how bad I am. My doctor has to fight with them about me taking 2 now, witch I've taken for 8 yrs. and now they will only prescribe me 1 wk at a time. Making it very difficult to juggle with everything else. My wife is constantly every wk or other wk on the phone trying to get my prescription filled. We don't have time for this. And this wk they wouldn't fill it because it's a 5 wk month. I need these pills every day so I don't fall asleep driving or cut off a finger. I take my pills at 7:30 am and 2:00 pm. And today I didn't get my first pill until 11:00. My wife was on the phone with doctors and anthem and CVS for 2 1/2 hrs this morning just to get me my pills. I had to drink 2 red bulls just to wake up this morning so I could go to work safe. I don't ever go to the doctor and never take pills except the 2 Provigil a day. I don't even take over the counter pills. So you know I need these. Without my pills I'm mentally awake for 3 hrs a day and majorly affects work day and life. I fall asleep in two min and hit deep sleep in 9 min.

I just want to not have to worry about not having my pills. Need your help. I don't know what to do.

I signed up for an Anthem Blue Cross plan through Covered California in October 2014 due to a life change. I paid my first premium for October/November. I never received a bill in December, but received a letter (3 days after bill would be due) saying they would cancel my coverage due to non-payment. I immediately made a payment online and mailed in a form to pay automatically from my checking account, including a voided check. I then received another letter in January saying they would cancel my account due to non-payment. I went online to discover that I'm set up for automatic bill pay and could not make a payment online. I sent them a message via their customer center and never heard back. Today, I called to find out why they hadn't deducted the funds and was told that they had cancelled my policy due to insufficient funds (which is not true -- I had several thousand dollars in my account) and would need to reinstate it. The rep said that I must've input incorrect routing or account number, but they had a copy of my voided check. Additionally, I received no notice that they had cancelled my account. Luckily I am healthy and able to follow up so it wasn't an emergency. I am posting this so that others can see my story and beware of the billing practices at Anthem. I plan to cancel my policy at the next open enrollment season.

Review: After numerous attempts to straighten this situation out I spoke to a representative named [redacted] he took my payment plus I paid for May premium he told me everything was set. After going to the dr and pharmacy for prescriptions they told me I was not covered. Today out of pocket it cost me over [redacted]. I called again they said they had s glitch and applied me payments to another balance. My insurance was purchased through access health ct they informed me all documents were correct and I was insured. This shouldn't be allowed the anthem rep said just keep paying out of pocket I don't know when it will be fixed. I will be unable to purchase my medications which could be life threatening to me. I don't know where else to turn. The government made this program so everyone can get affordable health coverage now I have none and they have my money.Desired Settlement: I want my insurance corrected and s refund of all out of pocket expenses [redacted] can verify all documents were sent and I should be insured.
