Review: I met with [redacted] about a new driveway. We reviewed a list of the details for the project, especially the need for easy flow with no drainage problems or blockages from the backyard down the driveway, and he absolutely assured me all details would be done. We agreed the project would cost $6,600. The driveway was to be lower than my patio and grass so both would flow onto the driveway and down to the street. [redacted] assured me the driveway would pitch to the left of the property and down, away from the house. The completed project is pitched incorrectly and toward the house. Water pools on both sides on the back porch, next to the house. I notified the company and they said they would see what they could do. They then installed a large and unsightly dry well in spite of my asking if such a thing would work with the water table at this location. [redacted] the [redacted] said it would not be a problem and that it would take a week of non-stop rain to fill. Last week a small rain over-filled the well and created the very pool it was designed to eliminate. The water pools against the very foundation of the house and will erode the soil under the driveway. Moreover, this driveway that is under 9 months old has stress fractures in 3 different flags, which is a further indication of sub-par work. They crew did not do the work properly. They did not re-grade the driveway properly before pouring the concrete. They will need to re-do it and use the proper psi.Desired Settlement: The job needs to be re-done. [redacted] the elder claimed that it was impossible to make the driveway lower than the patio, but he should have told me that before doing the project. I could have opted to pave with asphalt instead. He told me I needed more Belgian block and charged me an extra $1,000 for it, but failed to discuss the most important aspects of the job--the pitch and water flow issues. I maintain that [redacted] made a mistake. I have had 2 separate assessments of his work. Both feel the job was absolutely possible, but that this company botched it. The dry well, which puts water so close to my foundation, and has a rusty steel lid, should never have been used because it should never have been needed. The job should be re-done with proper grading and proper concrete or completely refunded.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have met with Vito who proposed a solution. I agreed to the solution provided they can really do it as proposed, with no further water problems. I sent an e-mail on Monday, June ** outlining his proposal and asked for a guarantee, to which he agreed via e-mail. I said I would sign off and remove complaint when the work is completed and I have tested for water flow. Again, he agreed. So for now I will not say that everything is resolved, just that we are in the process of doing so.
