Anthonys Inground Basketball Hoops Installations Installers & Exercise Assemblers Reviews (1)

Review: I purchased a basketball hoop for my backyard and had some cement laid for a small basketball court. I contracted "[redacted]s Inground Basketball Hoops Installations Installers & Exercise Assemblers" to install the hoop and paint the court as well as a 3 point line and foul lines. [redacted] was very responsive and accommodating in attempt to get my business and completed the job in July. I paid [redacted] 1600 in cash for the work which I believe was 600 for the installation of the hoop and 1000 for the paint job (Both ballpark numbers, but the total was definitely 1600). I informed [redacted] that a mixer was incorporated into the concrete for coloring, but that it was very messy, you can see spots all over the cement and this was the reason I hired him to paint over it. A couple of weeks past, and the paint started chipping all over the place, which [redacted] promised me the paint would be good for at least 5 years. I called him and after doing some research, he explained to me that because of the mix in the cement that his paint was not going to stick because of it and that the court should have been primed first. As the expert, I feel it's his responsibility to identify the surface, it was clear to me there was a mix on the cement and don't know anything about it. Nonetheless, I spoke with [redacted] a few times and we agreed on him coming back to my house to fix the court for a cost of the materials and some labor, which I was not thrilled about, I just wanted the job done right the first time, but now it looks terrible. [redacted] also ASKED ME TO power wash off the old paint and after spending a few hours doing so, I realized that it was not worth the effort and the paint was coming off little by little. Plus, why should that be my job to do? I am the customer and don't feel responsible for his mistake, but I was trying to work together with him to come to a resolution, to get a finished product.

[redacted] and I spoke several times via text messages and phone calls between late June and mid August, this was the time when he was planning to come to my house to do the work and get paid of course. Then, after the court started to chip, he began to ignore my calls and texts more and more. We finally got in touch via text (all of which I still have as proof) and he promised that he would come to my house to fix the court on Saturday 9/**, on that day he was a NO SHOW/NO CALL, I reached out to him on Tuesday to ask him what happened and he ignored me, then asked him again on the Thursday the [redacted] and he finally responded on the [redacted] to let me know that either 9/**, ** or ** would work. I heard nothing until Tuesday the [redacted] and that's because I texted him asking for an update. He said "It will be this week, tomorrow, Friday or Saturday", I informed him that Friday or Saturday would work best but for him to let me know. He called on Saturday and said that due to the weather he'd be coming on 10/* because the weather was supposed to be good,, he asked me to leave out my power washer (I did), clean the court (I did) - I left everything ready for him but again NO SHOW/NO CALL. I texted him asking if he was at my house on 10/*, he never responded, I texted him at night when I got home and realized nothing had been done, no answer again. I texted him on 10/* asking him "When are you coming?", he never answered. I texted him back on 10/*, no answer, 10/**, no answer. I called his business line on 10/*, 10/*, 10/*, 10/* and 10/* and left a couple of messages. His voice mail was full on one of my earlier messages, and I know he got my message because on 10/** his voice mail was no longer full. He has completely ignored me as the customer and disregarded his mistakes. my court looks horrible right now with the chipped and power washed paint, even the lines are coming up on the free throw line.Desired Settlement: The job [redacted] completed for the 1000 is a waste to me right now and I need to get it redone. He has been unwilling to make good on his mistake, all I want at this time is a refund for the work he performed so that I can pay someone else to do it correctly.

I have been patient waiting for him to come and fix it but that won't work, I'm very disappointed that we were unable to get this fixed and very frustrated by the way it looks today being only 3 months old.
