Antique Transport Company, Incorporated Reviews (4)

Review: I purchased an armoire on [redacted]. The item was located in NY. It took over four months for Antique Transport to arrange for delivery to me in California. The armoire was damaged in transit by the movers, costing an estimated $800 to repair. On March 28, 2014 I advised the manager, Joseph H[redacted], of this via email. He requested a quote for repairs which I provided. No further response was received after numerous follow-up emails and phone calls.Desired Settlement: Reimbursement for the cost to repair the armoire.

Review: Antique Transport contracted to transport valuable antiques from CT to CA. Of 6 primary pieces of furniture shipped, all but one had damage, and in several cases, major damage occurred. There were also some items (lamp shades, weights for an antique clock) which were not delivered.

I made numerous attempts to contact the President of this company, requesting on several occasions a specific time for a phone call to discuss the matter. The President ignored most attempts at communication (emails and voicemails), promised several times to call me "tomorrow" (and never did). When I did reach him by phone, there was no apology and the entire conversation consisted of him refuting what I consider obvious poor handling of the furniture and refusing to consider paying for any repairs amounting to estimated $2600 on one item.

Currently, the President is considering what settlement to offer and promises to ship one item which he has located in the warehouse, though he has taken over two weeks since last communication to respond. I reminded him via two emails and a voicemail message and no reply.

The furniture was delivered to me a few days before Christmas and despite approximately 20 emails, phone calls, etc. is still not resolved.

Please let me know how Revdex.com can help.

I will be happy to provide more details if needed.Desired Settlement: I would like:

1. Immediate shipment via [redacted] or [redacted] of the missing weights

2. Reimbursement in full for me to have all broken items repaired.

Review: I contracted with Antique Transport for shipping of a chandelier. They picked it up in Philadelphia at an auction house and delivered it to Calif. I paid for shipping of the item and insurance. The chandelier was delivered damaged. I have contacted Antique Transport numerous times to get the item repaired. Antique Transport told me to get quotes to get it repaired. I got the quotes as requested. He did not agree with the quotes and has refused to pay to get the chandelier repaired. I have sent seven more emails and he hasn't responded. I paid for insurance to pay for any damages during shipping and he has refused all repair payments.Desired Settlement: I would like to be paid for the repairs for the damage they caused while shipping our chandelier. Our cost for repair of the chandelier was $340.00

Review: Been waiting for my paid for furniture for almost three months. Shipper promises a pickup date and then is a no show. I asked shipper for an eta for delivery of said goods with no response. Does not communicate nor pickup company phone. Multiple inquires about shippers intentions. Now shipper states that he will deliver my goods next Monday when I am not available to receive said goods due to travel back to the east coast. Shipper will not cooperate and argues with me via email. Very frustrating experience! Other consumers have had a similar experience. Agreed to pay shipper for services upon receipt of furniture via certified bank check.Desired Settlement: I want a delivery of my furniture undamaged on a date that is acceptable to me. I want communication from the shipper with a two week notice, not a 4 day notice. If shipper is unable or unwilling to deliver my 3 pieces of furniture on a date that is acceptable then I want the pieces returned to [redacted] furniture and [redacted] furniture (the two different stores where I bought said pieces) and I will hire another shipper.
