Review: Anything Uphol agreed to recover the seats on my truck. Promised del: 3-4 days. It took 11 days after continually having to call them. When vehicle was delivered, air bag connections were not correct. I advised him immediately and was told he would take care (of a dangerous situation I might add.) Nothing done. I told him I would have the vehicle repaired by an outside source and would send him the bill. The repair bill was from [redacted] Auto. $109.00. I have advised him of this complaint and if he wishes to reimburse for the above amount (in cash the same way he asked that I pay him), I will withdraw the complaint.Desired Settlement: $109.00 Refund for outside repairs, either in cash or cashiers check.

Review: On August 12, 2015 I took the front and back seats from my 1957 Nash Metropolitan to Anything Upholstery, for them to be upholstered.This is a "vintage" car I am restoring to "ORIGINAL". I also took samples of the fabric and vinyl I wanted used that are vintage reproductions "original" to my car from SMS. I took a full color picture of exactly the style and color I wanted on my seats. I discussed everything with the owner of the shop, [redacted] Rodriguez.

I was shown samples of the vinyl that [redacted] suggested, over the reproduction vinyl, that would save money. After looking at all the samples I choose a vinyl called Softside Auto Vinyl, Pegasus PEG 1613 Brilliant White, but stayed with the original reproduction houndstooth black and white fabric. A contract/job invoice was prepared #1662. It specifically said on the invoice SMS Houndstooth, Softside Auto Vinyl Pegasus PEG 1613 Brilliant White. I paid $400. cash deposit.

[redacted] told me that it would be 3 weeks to build the seats after he received the fabric which should be a week or two as SMS delivered fast. I did not contact [redacted] again until September 9, 2015, at which time he told me the seats would be ready on Monday Sept 14. On September 14 I called again. Seats still not done, would need one more week. On September 22, I called again, still not done but he did have the back seat cushion and seat back and the front bench. I told him I would pick them up on September 24, 2015.

On September 24, 2015 I arrived at the shop and was shocked when [redacted] walked out with the seats covered in BLACK VINYL! Not white as I specified and as the contract was written. I was at a loss for words at that point and told him that I had ordered white vinyl not black. I told him that the back seat did not have the "firm" foam in it that I requested, it only had cotton batting. He said he would put firm batting in that is why it was not seen closed. I was so shocked and disappointed over the color that I just did not know what to say.

He had no response for why they used black vinyl. I just wanted to take my seats and leave I was quite upset. In his work room were pictures all pinned to the back wall of seats for my car. All of them showed white vinyl. [redacted] told me the rest of the seats would be ready next Monday Sept 28. I paid the balance of my bill.

On Monday the 28th I arrived at the shop at 10 am as we agreed on that time. A note was on the door "out for deliveries". I called [redacted] on his phone several times and went bak to the shop twice that day. A new sign was up, Closed for the Day.

On Tuesday morning I called [redacted] and he told me he had a break down and did not even answer the phone, again he promised for Friday Oct 2,2015.

Friday October 2, 2015 I went to the shop. The man in the back room was still sewing on the seat back and they had not been installed on the frame. [redacted] promised again they would be done by the next day. I told [redacted] I would be there at 9 to pick up the seat backs. Arrived at 9 and they still were not ready! The covers were not on the seats but closed with hog rings on the bottom. [redacted] told me he wanted to make sure they fit properly in the car before he closed off the seats permanently. I told him I would bring the car up to his shop the so I went back home and brought the car to [redacted] to "fit" the seats in the car. He was also going to quote on the headliner, door panels and tire cover and possible trunk. He told me he was too busy to quote so he would call me on Tuesday October 6, with a quote but he wanted a $300. deposit and would start the work on the headliner on Tuesday and it would take 3 days. Since the car was there that seemed like the logical thing to leave it for them to work on.

Tuesday, no call, No quote. NO seats. At this point I became angry, I texted [redacted] and told him I wanted the deposit back I was not happy with his performance and did not want him to do any more work on my car. I just wanted the seats done because I had paid him in full. They were the wrong vinyl but I wanted the seats so I could get out of his shop and be done with it.Desired Settlement: I contacted [redacted] and told him I was upset over the wrong color of vinyl and trying to be fair I told him I wanted to be reimbursed for the fabric $200.25. and the vinyl used, $74.85 and 1/2 of the labor charge $250. $525.10 plus tax. To have my seats remade in the correct color, I will need to buy new fabric and vinyl again and pay labor again. [redacted] turned this down. So now I am asking for reimbursement of my total bill that I paid to him in cash (less $50. for 2 yards of vinyl I paid for extra). I want total $801.16
