I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
We had to replace brake lines and the gas line, anything less would of been negligent due to the condition of the lines Replacing all the lines was not our choice, it was what the mechanic said was necessary for safety reasonsThe offer to pay $for a job that cost us $does not add up As stated from the beginning we would settle for half of the bill from the mechanicWe have the reciept from the mechanic.
Regards,
*** ***

Revdex.com spoke to Josh at business and the following was relayed: I just had lines done on a truck and a line replacement from the wheel to the master cylinder was $I am willing to cover the cost of the brake line that had sprung a leak and provide $toward their repair

I’ve
received a letter dated 12/6/2016 stating that a complaint has been
filed against my company, Anything With Wheels LLC, by [redacted];
complaint ID [redacted]. I’ve reviewed the complaint at Revdex.com.org and am submitting the following response as directed per the letter. [redacted], not [redacted],...

purchased a 2004 [redacted] from me on
8/12/2016. At the time of purchase the vehicle had 109,204 miles on it
and was sold for $3,800. The fair market value of the vehicle per [redacted] was listed at over $5,000. Since the vehicle had over 100,000
miles on it, NYS does not require that I provide any warranty. I did,
however, choose to provide an extended warranty (3 month/4500 mile
Powertrain Warranty) through [redacted] as a courtesy and
measure of good service. This was at no cost to [redacted] or [redacted]. The
vehicle received a New York State inspection on 7/15/2016 by a licensed
NYS inspection station. The vehicle passed inspection and there was no
indication of any imminent problems with the brake lines or otherwise. [redacted] contacted me on 10/31/2016, over 2 and a half months after
purchasing the vehicle, to notify me that a brake line had sprung a leak
and needed to be serviced. [redacted] and [redacted] brought the vehicle to a
mechanic of their choosing who gave his opinion that the vehicle should
not have passed inspection over 3 months prior, in July. That is an
unfair assessment as it is unreasonable for any mechanic to have the
foresight to predict what may happen to a 12 year old vehicle several
months down the road. According to [redacted].**.gov, NYS vehicle inspectors are required to inspect
all brake lines and hoses; checking for leaks, cracks, chafing,
restrictions, and improper support. None of these issues were reported. [redacted] informed me that she would be having all of the brake and fuel lines on
the vehicle replaced by her mechanic to the tune of $1,000.00. She
asked that I pay half, $500. I advised her that, although the
responsibility to fix the vehicle fell on the consumer at this point, I
would be willing to have the mechanic that I use assess the problem and
give her a price at my dealer discount rate. I also advised both [redacted] and [redacted] that I would be willing to pay for the portion of the repair
covering the ruptured brake line but would not be able to contribute to
replacing the entire brake and fuel line system. [redacted] purchased a 12-13 year old vehicle with over 109,000 miles on it.
I sold it to him at a fair and reasonable price with an extended
warranty for piece of mind at no extra cost. When [redacted] purchased the
vehicle it was in good operating condition and passed NYS inspection at a
licensed NYS inspection station. I offered to work with [redacted] and [redacted] to cover part of the cost of repair even though I do not believe I am
liable for those expenses. In the end, [redacted] and [redacted] refused to let my
mechanic look at the vehicle so that I may have a second opinion as to
the extent of the issue. I am unwilling to pay half of an invoice for
service rendered by a mechanic unknown to me for issues that I am not
liable for in the first place. Please let me know if there is anything else you need from me. Thank you, Josh Angelo Owner, Anything with Wheels I llc
