Joined the gym In September which had a free personal trainer offer for a week. Was show rules about using equipment and canceling my trainer in 24 hrs. Wasn’t told if I did the free offer that it would start biweekly payments of $272. Went in December of 2018 and told them I wanted to cancel, and he said he would suspend it for a month. Reiterated that I wanted to cancel it. The lady at the front desk actually took my key fob so I’ve had no access to even the gym since. Tried to contact the owner, she’s never there and employees say they can’t help me. I’ve Facebook messaged her and still no response. Now it’s January and they are charging me again. Finally got a time to meet the trainer to discuss the situation and he says unless I have moved 25 miles out of the area of the gym or I’ve been physically hurt I cannot cancel my membership. Very deceptive business practices. Now he shows me a contract I supposedly signed that show an almost 6,000 dollar contract that I’ve never seen. I’ve explained that I didn’t agree to this and that I’m Financially unable to pay this And he doesn’t care. I’ve offered to pay a small fee in order to get out of it and he says that nothing can be done. They have preyed on an young adult and I don’t even believe that my “signature” is mine. It doesn’t have my last name.
