cancel their membership, they have to come into the salon and fill out cancel paperwork. We have never taken cancels over the phone. If [redacted] called to cancel, she would have been told that she had to come into the salon and fill out a cancelation form. In the box that says “ATTENTION” on the membership, it is stated that any cancels, freezes or alterations to an individual’s membership involves filling out an additional form with the members signature and submitting it to the salon by the first of the month. Review: Completed form and cancelled membership at the Steubenville Pike Salon on 4/1/15. Final payment date was to be 4/28/15. Received charge for membership fee on 5/28/15 as well as an additional return fee due to the unauthorized charge to my checking account. Initially contacted their billing company ([redacted]) who stated they received no correspondence from the salon related to my membership cancellation. Contacted salon (Steubenville Pike location, [redacted]) several times and explained my issue to salon staff who stated that the manager would call me back, however I still have not been contacted more than 10 days later.Desired Settlement: Expect refund of the unwarranted charges (total of $60.90, which includes $31.90 membership fee as well as $29.00 return fee) as well as guarantee that no further charges shall be made to my account. This business should also review their billing practices in order to protect future consumers.

Review: I went to anytime tans over a year ago to end my contract due to the fact I was pregnant and the doctor advised me to not tan. I called before I went in spoke to a young girl who said I would have to pay a cancelation fee and then she would leave the notice in the book for her manager to approve. I went down and did so. Since I ended my contract I have had many personal issues arise that my focus was not on checking to make sure my bank account was no longer having money with drawn. I don't use the checking accout often that the tanning place was with drawing from so I never noticed until two days ago when I put money in and I questioned the banker she informed me that anytime tan had continued to withdraw 33 every month for over a year! I called immediately spoke to a young girl who said her manager [redacted] would call me back at 4:45. I called the store back at. 6:45 since I never got a phone call. The women was not helpful blamed me for the theft of my account and said all they could do was give me 6 months free tanning. I said that wasn't acceptable and she said she would call her boss and call me back the next business day 3/20. This of course didn't happen so I called the store back today [redacted] once again offered no money only 6 months of tanning which I explained I am not able to do for medical reasons . She said the owner said I need to provide proof this all happened! I haven't been into that tanning salon since dec 2012!!!!! Because I canceled my account y would someone pay for something for over a year if they weren't under the impression it was canceled! The bank manager of the bank I use recommended to file a withdrawal with out approval form and take legal action. I just would like to get some of the money that was wrongfully taken from me before I turn to legal action and even news media. I feel this is wrong they can look in there system and see I stopped coming and I told them I filed the paper and what the girl said. It goes along with their process. They are crooksDesired Settlement: They took out money for over a year! Plus the money I paid to cancel the membership and overdraft fees for taking money out with out my knowledge. All I want is repaid at least 6 months of refund. It is over 600$ that I lost because of their theft.

Attached is a copy of [redacted]'s membership.

At the time [redacted] states that she wanted to cancel, she was still obligated to the term of her membership agreement. In order to cancel before the term is fulfilled, she would have had to pay a $50 cancellation fee, provide us with a medical note from the doctor and sign a cancellation form. We do not have any of this on file. There are several steps taken when a customer cancels. After the customer supplies us with all necessary paperwork, this information is entered into the computer, under the customers account, with specific codes. A report is completed of all cancels for the month. The report is faxed to me and checked to ensure the proper codes were entered. After the actual paperwork is matched to the report, I manually go into our billing companies website and process all of the cancels. All paperwork is then filed in our archives. None of these steps were completed and therefore, we do not have any paperwork from [redacted].

[redacted] never signed a cancel form, nor provided a doctors notes and cancel fee. Her membership rolled over on a month-to-month basis. It is very important to us to do our best to satisfy our customers. Although the necessary paperwork was not submitted, being that she hasn't tanned in 6 months, we have offered her 6 months of tanning. We do not give cash back. But, by all means, if this was something that we were at fault, we would be more than happy to refund her.

Our offer still stands to give [redacted] 6 months of tanning. If by chance she cannot or does not want to tan, we can provide her with a gift certificate or break it down to a few gift certificates, to give to friends or family.

The quality of service that we give to our customers is very important to us and is also very important to keep us in business. We believe in ethical business practices. Anytime Tan Tanning Club has been in business for 29 years.

Review: This is regarding my wifes [redacted]'s account. She has been dealing with this and getting no where with the company. First off, this account was orriginally cancelled when [redacted] got pregnant in November of 2014. Someone did not do their job, and actually cancel the account. When this was found out, we called again to cancel it and was suggested to put the account "on a freeze" and she could use her monthly freeze fee towards spray on tan. When she went down to get the spray on tan, they told her that she could not do that. At that time the papers were signed and the account was cancelled but they still charged for the freeze fee. I also found out by calling anothet store that they DO allow you to use the freeze fee towards spray tan, guess just not "[redacted]". So even after the papers were signed they still neglected to cancel the account and started billing her again for it. Now she has a balance of $179.70. This is ridiculous, she hasnt been back since she was pregnant.Desired Settlement: Her bill needs to be adjusted to a zero balance. You cannot charge someone else for mistakes made by the company and for services that she couldnt even use. The total balance of $179.70 needs taken care of and the billing needs to stop!

This is in regards to Complaint ID #[redacted], [redacted]. I have attached a copy of [redacted]'s freeze form, the statement from ASF, our billing company, and the notes from ASF.First, I would like to apologize if one of our employees misinformed [redacted]. When a member goes on a freeze, they pay $6 each month that they are on a freeze. When the member comes back to tan, they are given 'Bonus Bucks' for the amount they paid while on freeze to use on or towards anything in the salon and that does includes our Versa Spa spray tan. After looking into this, this is what happened. [redacted]'s freeze fee's for 9/15, 10/15 and 11/15 were never paid. You can see this on the bottom of the ASF billing statement. Then her freeze ended and rolled over on 12/15/15 to her regular payments. That payment came back, as "Invalid Account." I have attached the notes from ASF showing the attempts made to call and email [redacted]. After so many attempts, a statement was sent in the mail. The reason why [redacted] was told that she could not use her Bonus Bucks towards the spray tan, was because there was a past due amount owed on her account. Members accounts are suspended until the account becomes current.[redacted] has not used our facility. I have no problem adjusting [redacted]'s account to zero and eliminating the monies owed. Anytime Tan has been in business for 30 years. The quality of service that we give to our customers is very important to us and very important to our reputation. It is unfortunate that this situation happened. I see that there were some freeze fees that were paid previous to the account becoming past due. I put a Versa Spa spray tan on [redacted]'s account. It will be there for her if she decides to come in and use it. We hope that [redacted] will decide to utilize the spray tan.Thank you, ManagementAnytime Tan Tanning Club

Review: I purchased a 5 tan package in July 2013. When I went to redeem a tan on Aug 22, 2013, I was told they expired already. I was only able to redeem 3 of the 5 tans that I purchased. When I originally purchased the package in July 2013 I was not told there was an expiration date. When I was there in August 2013, the lady said they expired in 30 days. I think this is very poor customer service to uninform your customers of an expiration date when purchasing a service--let alone have something expire in 30 days. I will not be going back here! Had I known there was such a short expiration date, I would not have purchased a package but rather single sessions. I would greatly appreciate being refunded for the two sessions which I was not able to redeem having been uninformed of an expiration date.Desired Settlement: Refund of the two sessions which I was not able to redeem.

Dear [redacted]:

The issue with customer [redacted] ID#[redacted], has been resolved. Our manager, [redacted], called [redacted]. We offered to give her either the disputed amount that she requested of $13.00, or another 5 tan package worth $26.00. [redacted] took our offer for another 5 tans. [redacted] also explained to [redacted] about our packages. Our packages have an expiration of 30 days. but customers never lose their expired tans. When another package is bought, the expired tans are given back. We look forward to [redacted] returning to Anytime Tan Tanning Club. Thank you, Management Anytime Tan Tanning Club

Review: On May 19, 2014 I purchased a package at the anytime tanning salon in Mount Washington PA with an enrollment fee of $29.00, First months due of $69.00 and monthly amount of $72.45 to begin on 6/5/2014. this package was called the "diamond club" package which allowed be up to 6 or 7 spray tans a month. During the month of June, I went to this location to spray tan or use the "cocktail" which is a spray then dry in a stand up bed because I had 2 bridal showers I was in, A baby shower and a wedding, and every time I went up to use it or call before I came it was broken. I explained that due to my work schedule and location I could not go to another salon in their allotted business hours and I would like some sort of reimbursement because I was paying for a service that they were not giving me. The manager said that was my problem and that I could go to the Shadyside location. I said I could not and that I would just like to use my tans owed when the bed began to work again. She said she would contact the owner and let me know.. None of which was done. Also I asked the manager when I had to cancel by so that I could use this package up till July 15 2014 but not after and she said by June 30 so I put on freeze at this point and when I came to use it before July 15 they said it was on freeze already and that I was told the wrong information. They then said AGAIN that they would contact the owner and let me know and at MY REQUEST work on cancelling my account. I just recently called a different location in robinson pa because this locations phone would not let me get through and let her know my account is still in freeze and they are taking $6 a month out of my credit card without my authorization and I would like a cancellation again immediately and a refund of those $6 a month and she said she wasn't sure if that could happen because they do not refund. I am so frustrated with this business and do not feel that anyone knows whats going on or willing to help me but I want refunded and compensated.Desired Settlement: I would like refunded my $12 for the last two months that they charged me for freezing as I told them I wanted cancellation because of their inability to provide me services. I would also like the rest of my spray tans (5) either compensated back to me at a different location or some money back for the month that I was unable to use them. I will never use this location again.

Hello,

Review: In May 2009 I purchased a tanning package for my granddaughter for prom. The contract was for 1 yr at 41.50/month, that was automatically debited from my checking acct. My granddaughter became sick with a kidney disorder, she was placed on a medication that requires her to avoid sunlight. I called the salon and discussed this matter with manager. She informed me I would need to obtain a note from her doctor. I did, and took it to the salon in person. I provided it to the manager that informed me that the contract was discontinued at that time. My husband manages our finances. Incidentally, I discovered now 4 1/2 yrs later a charge on my account for the fee from the tanning salon. I contacted my bank and they informed me that this charge had been occurring for 4 1/2 yrs over $2200.00. The tanning services were never utilized beyond the time I provided the medical excuse at the manager's request at which time she stated the contract was discontinued. I completed an affidavit at the bank that these charges were fraudulent. I called the salon and explained that a mistake must have occurred. The young woman stated she would have a manager call me. I never received a call for 2 days. I called the main number from there website they have 8 stores in the Pgh area. I spoke with a woman and again explained what had happened. I asked for the name of the upper manager she gave me the name [redacted] and refused to disclose a last name. I asked who the owner was and she stated [redacted] no last name. I did some research online and discovered [redacted] to be the owner. I called the salon back and asked if I could have a call back from [redacted] as I had found him to be the owner. I never received a call for 2 more days. I contacted local police. [redacted] denies I cancelled the contract and told the police I could sue him like the rest and he will win. He will not even speak to me about this.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund from the time that I had discontinued services. I found several other reviews online from customers experiencing the same experience.

This is in regards to customer [redacted] ID#[redacted]. [redacted] is the name on the agreement, but [redacted] signed for her granddaughter. I have attached a copy of her agreement from 2009. [redacted] is stating that she furnished us with a doctor’s note. If [redacted] would have brought the doctor’s note into the salon, she would have had to fill out a cancel form. We do not have a cancel form and nor does she. When a customer fills out a cancel form, there are many steps that are taken. First, the cancel form is entered into the computer under the customer’s account and then the cancel is entered into our cancel book. After those steps, every cancel for that particular month is filled out on a form and faxed over to me. I then, receive all of the actual cancel forms and I match those to the forms that were originally faxed to me. None of these steps were completed. We have absolutely nothing that shows that [redacted] canceled with a doctor’s note. [redacted] called 2 of our salons numerous times on the weekend of October 18th. She was told continually that someone would get back to her on Monday. When Monday came, we had all intentions of calling [redacted] back. But, we received a phone call from the Baldwin Police stating that she is charging us with fraud. At that point, any communication has ended. If [redacted] were to come up with a cancel form that was signed by her and our employee, we would take responsibility and take care of the situation. This has not happened. Anytime Tan Tanning Club has been in business for 28 years. We believe in ethical business practices. The quality of service that we give to our customers is very important to us and very important to our reputation. Thank you, Management Anytime Tan Tanning Club
