To Whom It May Concern,
We sent two return labels to Mr. [redacted] and received our switch back. We have also refunded Mr. [redacted] the $216.98 which was the amount of his original purchase. AP Electric also paid the return shipping.
Please find a copy of the refund on Mr. [redacted]'s...

Mastercard.
Note - Mr. [redacted] was also told that this issue would be resolved before he called the Revdex.com.

Tell usResponseAP Electric has been in business since 1999 and resells
generators for manufacturers including: Kohler, Generac, Briggs & Stratton,
Cummins, and many other top manufacturers.  We do not manufacturer generators. When AP Electric sells any generator to an individual, a...

company,
or a contractor, an inspection of the merchandise is legally agreed to in our
terms and conditions by the consumer (copy attached with circled language)
prior to any purchase being accepted via our website or by one of our agents.  Respectfully, AP Electric does not have the
ability to fly to all 48 states inspect and receive merchandise for every
consumer that we sell to in the US.  It
takes 1 to 2 minutes to look at a box fro AP Electric ships via 5 large respectable LTL freight
carriers in the US.  When a generator
leaves our facility in Wisconsin, we inspect every generator for any exterior
damage prior to shipment.  It is then
loaded onto LTL carrier trucks at our facility.  The driver from the LTL carrier accepts the generator(s) free and clear
from damage via a legal Bill of Ladding signed by both AP Electric and the
carrier, in this case Estes.Mr. [redacted] or one of his family members, allowed
Estes (the delivery company) to deliver the generator without being at their
residence to receive or inspect the generator.  Mr. [redacted] or one of his family members gave Estes permission to
deliver the generator on the phone with Estes and via a note on their door –
copy of Delivery Receipt attached.  By
allowing Estes to deliver without inspecting the generator, Mr. [redacted]
or his family member violated our terms and conditions.  If Mr. [redacted] or
one of his family member inspected the generator and it was damaged (noted the
damage on the Bill of Ladding our refused the generator, as stated in our terms
and conditions), AP Electric would have shipped a brand new generator to Mr.
[redacted] and picked up the damaged generator.  AP Electric could have filed a claim with
Estes and received money back from Estes to pay for the shipping of the damaged
generator and the repair or replacement of the damaged generator.Note that Estes
did not forge Mr. [redacted] signature – he gave them permission to sign for him in
his admitted absence on the phone and in a written note.  At this point, AP
Electric has gone well beyond our agreement/terms and conditions that Mr.
[redacted] agreed to in an attempt to convince Estes to resolve Mr. [redacted] issue.   Estes agreed to provide
Mr. [redacted] $500 to repair the unit with AP Electric intervention.  Note - AP Electric
provides free shipping to almost every customer location.  AP Electric cannot eat  3 legs of shipping – to Mr. [redacted], back to
our facility and to Mr. [redacted] again, provide a new generator to Mr. [redacted],
and fix the original generator (which can be repaired) that should have been
inspected as agreed to in the terms and conditions (takes 2 minutes). Our company is incredibly
customer friendly.  A call to AP Electric
by Mr. [redacted] or one of his family members, prior to letting the LTL carrier
drop the generator off without inspection, would have been one simple solution.  Acceptance of Estes offer to accept the $500
to repair the generator would be a second option to resolve the problem.

[redacted] was refunded $7605.60 less the 3% which was $228.17 - a copy of the credit memo is attached.  This was done on June 8, 2017.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]I had called back the owner as he requested and left him a message to email me his email address so I could have sent him the email sent before but I never heard from him.  The only reason this was submitted to the Revdex.com is because they would never responded to email sent and after reading other complaints they all had the same problem.  As far as sending the item back it would not be worth the money to do so.  Regards,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Refusing "to back down", is certainly AP Electrics prerogative, but it doesn't make them right.  You merely have to see the pictures I attached in the initial  response to clearly see that no where on the screen are banners, or additional directions for additional purchases shown, or mentioned.  I'm not sure why Kohler got dragged into AP Electrics response.  As far as I know, they are a quality and reputable company, and I own several products produced by them with great satisfaction.  The issue is simply a mistake on AP Electrics web order page that they refused to even politely or professionally discuss, and resorted to name calling and belittling comments towards me  within the first minute of phone contact with (I assume) the owner.

Review: On 09/08/15 I entered an order with AP Electric for a new generator. I called back to inquire if I needed anything else to use this generator with an existing transfer switch I already owned. I was told by Dom that I needed to purchase and UpFit kit for $24.95 which I agreed to as they were the experts in this matter. The generator and kit were shipped on 09/10/15 on order #304xxx for a total purchase of $4,012.10.

The shipment was delivered to my house on 09/21/15. I installed the generator and discovered that the UpFit kit was not required. The cost of the UpFit kit was $24.95.

I called and e-mailed several times to get an RMA (return material authorization) which I finally received. I sent back the UpFit kit on 10/07/15 and AP received it on 10/09/15. It was in new condition and the package had not been opened. AP said their return policy allowed them to deduct -20% and they have credited me for $19.96 after deducting $4.99.

Their posted return policy is:

Return Policy

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).

You should expect to receive your refund within three weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

General Returns

Returns are happily accepted if the following conditions apply:

• Merchandise must be unused/uninstalled and have all original packaging, accessories, and manuals.

• A request for an RMA is made within 30 days of receipt of the merchandise

• Merchandise is returned within 15 days of receipt of the RMA

Standard Merchandise

Products and accessories, except "electronic" or "special order" or "as is" items, can be returned within 30 days of delivery*, but will be subject to a 20% restocking fee to cover testing, cleaning and repackaging expenses. Simply request an RMA, return the item to us, shipping prepaid & using the most convenient shipping method available to you. Most merchandise includes free shipping, so if you return one of these products our actual outbound shipping costs will be deducted from your return refund. Opened returns must be in salable condition with original materials and packaging.

* Engine powered equipment cannot be returned once it has been gassed or oiled due to federal shipping regulations. If the product has been gassed or oiled, it needs to be taken to an authorized service center for repair which may be covered under warranty.

Special Order Items

These items are shipped to you directly from the manufacturer and may be returned with approval from the manufacturer. If approved, you may be responsible for round trip shipping costs, as some products include free shipping, yet the cost of shipping may be included in the retail price. You may also be responsible for a restocking fee of up to 25%.

Cancelled Orders

An order that has shipped cannot be cancelled. If you refuse an order which has already been shipped, you will be responsible for both the outbound and return shipping costs in addition to the 20% restocking fee.

Built-to-Order Items

There are no returns allowed for products which have been specially built for you and shipped by the manufacturer. These items are not routinely stocked and therefore cannot be returned.

Installed/Altered Items

Once an item has been installed or altered in any way, it cannot be returned. Any damage due to improper installation is the responsibility of you or your installer. A warranty claim can be made, but it is up to the discretion of the manufacturer if they will cover any costs associated with an incorrect installation.

Defective Products

You are encouraged to test your product within 15 days of receipt so we can quickly remedy any mechanical problems. If you think your product is defective, don't worry.

Damaged or Missing Merchandise

You must open and inspect your shipment for damage and piece count. Do not accept damaged goods. Merchandise that is refused due to damage will be returned to us and replaced promptly and all related claims will be handled by AP Electric. In the event you accept a damaged shipment, you incur all responsibility associated with filing a freight claim with the carrier. Please retain all items (pallet, carton, etc) including documentation (delivery receipt, pictures, etc) as the carrier has the right to inspect the damaged merchandise and original shipping cartons before processing your claim.

If there is no visible or obvious damage (the carton appears acceptable at delivery and no damage is noted on delivery receipt), but broken or damaged items are discovered after opening, call the carrier within two (2) business days of receipt for instructions in placing a Concealed Damage Claim. Typically, a carrier will not give you 100% replacement value when filing a concealed damage claim and we will not assume the difference. YOU are responsible for verifying the condition of your merchandise upon receipt. Please inspect it carefully for shipping/handling damage, Open the Package and Inspect The Contents, prior to signing the delivery receipt. AP Electric & Generators will not be responsible for concealed freight damage.

Please ensure that all items listed on the delivery receipt are present and accounted for. Occasionally, several items will be shipped on one pallet which is designated on the delivery receipt. If the pallet is not shrink wrapped and the number of items you receive does not correspond with the delivery receipt, you must designate so, indicating the missing item(s) and call AP Electric immediately to initiate a replacement process. Please note that batteries which are shipped with a generator are located on top of the generator and not inside the generator box and are counted as a separate item on the delivery receipt. In the event you accept a shipment without notating any missing items, you incur all responsibility associated with filing a claim and replacing the product.

As a consumer, I relied on the first part of their return policy which states "You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund". How would I know that the UPFit kit shipped with my generator was NOT covered by their first sentence. At best, their policy is misleading and confusing for consumers as it is written.Desired Settlement: I would like my $4.99 refunded and their policy better written so other consumers are not mislead.

Regards,

Ordered a Westinghouse generator which took 4 weeks to receive it. Two weeks after the order I called them to find out it was sitting in a warehouse. They were scheduled to call me but of course did not. After I tracked it down they did deliver the next day. On arrival no damage was noted. Generator was a snap to put together, oiled and gassed up and started immediately. HOWEVER AFTER 30 MINUTES GASOLINE BEGAN POURING OUT OF THE AIR FILTER. Based upon the volume of gas coming out it had to be a defective carburetor. Took it to a dealer (1 hour away from me). It took 3 weeks for them to get the part from Westinghouse. Fixed and now works great.
AP electric will not assist you at all if you have a problem. They are a middleman and just peddle the product, It is up to you to deal with the manufacturer. I would not buy from them again. Once they have your credit card number you are on your own.

I'M NOT SURE WHOS WORSE DOM OR JEREMEY AT "AP ELECTRIC & GENERATORS" . ONE WEEK I ORDER A CARBURATOR ONLINE BECAUSE THE ADD INDICATED IT WAS IN STOCK BY HAVING THE WORD "NEW" IN THE PICTURE. A WEEK LATER I ASK IN THE CHAT WHY IT HASN'T BEEN SHIPPED YET? AT THAT TIME I WAS TOLD BY DOM GENERAC HASN'T SHIPPED THEM AND IT WILL BE ANOTHER WEEK. THE FOLLOWING FRIDAY I WAS TOLD BY DOM GENERAC WON'T BE SHIPPING THE PART SO I SAID REFUND MY MONEY. DAYS LATER MY ACCOUNT HAD NOT BEEN CREDITED SO I TALKED TO JEREMY WHO TOLD ME MY ACCOUNT WAS CREDITED AND TO TAKE IT UP WITH MY BANK. ALL ALONG I CAN'T HELP BUT WONDER WHY DIDN'T ANYBODY TELL ME THEY DIDN'T HAVE THIS PART TO BEGIN WITH, I COULD HAVE GONE ELSEWHERE AND HAD MY GENERATOR FIXED DURING SOME SNOW WHERE WE LOST ELECTRIC FOR HOURS AT A TIME AND I NEEDED HEAT. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH "AP ELECTRIC & GENORATOR" AGAIN I HONESTLY BELIEVE THEY DO NOT HAVE THE CUSTOMER IN MIND WHEN PUSHING THEIR PARTS THROUGH THEIR WAREHOUSE. IN MY OPINION THEY'RE ONLY IN IT FOR THE MONEY.

Review: Ordered a generator for 2,257.25. The trucking co called to deliver generator on 8/11/2015. I told the dispatcher that I would be in surgery that day and could we reschedule. She said that it would cost us a storage fee because they didn't have a truck coming to our area for another week or we could leave directions on the door where to put the the generator. I got home at 7:00 pm that night and looked at the box and notice marks and a small puncture on the bow. Opened it to find the generator wiring harness had been smashed into the generator rendering the generator unusable. Called AP Electric first thing the next morning and Estes trucking co. Estes trucking forged my name on the delivery ticket. I did not sign for the unit or except damaged item. The only thing I need was leave the direction on the door where to put the unit. No signature. Estes has offered $500.00. I'm not looking for money. I would like to have what I paid for undamaged. A so far AP Electric is saying I excepted unit as is. That's not true I did what the dispatcher from Estes trucking told me to do and that was to let them know where to put the unit. I was not told that that was giving up my right to have an undamaged item that I paid for Estes trucking delivery ticket # 078-1171675. Claim # 1156183. AP Electric 8401 102 nd Street. On June 20th 2016 I called APelectric & generators and spoke to Domenic asking him about the new Westinghouse 2400i generator. It received excellent reviews online and the price was $619 shipped. I also inquired about the "backordered" status of the generator and he said "Others have put in orders so if you don't order now there may not be enough units for you and it may go into backorder again." I fell for that line from Domenic, my bad...but minor. So I put in the order online through AP's site that day for $619 shipped. A few minutes later an email confirmation came from Paypal and from AP.
But after some thoughts overnight I didn't feel right about it. First, I didn't like Domenics fearful demeanor. Second when I checked with my credit card the time limit for disputes is 60 days from the charge posting. This left little room for error I thought. If I get a bum unit or have a problem with this company (whom I never have done business with before) I will have no recourse. So I decided to get the customer service number for Westpro power inc, the people who make Westinghouse generators and ask. I spoke to a man named Rob [redacted] and he ASSURED me first that the generators were scheduled from China the first week of August (not the end of July as stated by APelectric & generators) and second there would be PLENTY (he used that word in a tone that was assuring) that they would have more than enough with the size order that was coming. So for me this was all I needed.
The same afternoon (June 22nd) I cancelled the order with a man named Bob at AP electric. Bob sounded surprised that they were coming in August and that I was cancelling the order (that should have been a major signal to me. They always sounded weird when I talked about not ordering or canceling the order). He said it was "no problem" and he would "get right on it.". By 6pm est that day no refund had been issued on Paypal. Around 7pm I listen to a voicemail from Domenic at AP saying "are you SUUUUURE you want to cancel? I mean, there are so many others ordering and you will fall to the bottom of the list and if they go, they go. So I just want to be sure...so call me back."
I called back and they were closed so I left a general voicemail reiterating and confirming for them to cancel my order and refund the card. All this was on the evening of June 22nd.
The next day at 5pm there still was no refund issued. I called AP and Domenic answered. I said "I would absolutely like to cancel the order so just go ahead and do it." His response?
"Okay we will minus a 3% credit card fee.". What!!? What is that? He said "it's in our policy.". What?! At that point I was so angry at this sheister. I first off have been processing credit cards for 20 years and have never even heard of a fee to the consumer called a credit card fee (neither has Barclay card). Second off you never even had to ship anything! It couldn't be a restocking fee! "Yes he said credit card fee.". So anyone who knows anything about this knows it costs a business NOTHING, nada, to refund or void a credit card transaction. Also, reputable companies (such as Amazon for instance) do not even charge your card until they ship an item. These guys are just weird and untrustworthy. There is no such thing as a credit card fee for this type of issue to the consumer.
So yup, he refunded me $600.43. I did as I promised and immediately called Barclay card (we both had a good laugh at the "credit card fee " thing.) And they put in a dispute. I am praying Paypal charges him the $20 charge back fee. They must be desperate for money. Why would you risk offending a potential future customer when you lose absolutely ZERO dollars?? This defies any logic I can see. How stupid.
So, I would advise everyone out there to never give this company any credit card or prepayment for anything. No, how about no money at all. The nature of this transaction leads me to seriously question this "tip of the iceberg" problem. They had 6 disputes on Revdex.com and a few of them were things like this. Even though when people complained they refunded them, there are too many awesome businesses out there to deal with these substandard people at APelectric. Save yourself any undo stress and bypass the website of APelectric & generators LLC at all costs.

AP Electric [redacted] Big Time. I placed an order for a generator online. Stated this Generated has "FREE Shipping to all 48 Lower States". I go thru the big process of making sure, there is no problem ..I pay for the generator..go thru all the loops in securing this transaction. Then 2 1/2 days later , I get a call stating the Generator can NOT be shipped to me in CA. They told me they just got the order,,which is 60 hours after I placed it. then tell me they are not going to ship it until I pay them $15 dollars more.. for some CA upgrade. the point is THEY made the mistake,,and refused to absorb the costs for their mistake. it is far less the amount more the huge delay and the business ethics. They kept me on hold and passed me around.. I talked to the manager but he is but a puppet. Not sure how he looks at himself in the mirror. Again, its not the money as much as it is the lack of responsibility. ANY company taking hundreds and hundreds of dollars and refusing to fork out 15 bucks for their mistake needs not to be in business. [redacted]

I have purchased from AP Electric more than once over the past few years and have had nothing but a great experience. The website is easy to use and my generator was shipping quickly. I will continue to us them as needed.

Review: We purchased a Kohler generator from AP electric we worked with [redacted] on 05/13/15 purchase price $4,111.95. We asked if this specific unit is for off grid? (unit Kholer model #14/20RESA) [redacted] said yes so we purchased. The generator was installed on 05/22/15. On 10/05/15 5 months later the generator shut down we called Norris Electric [redacted]. # ###-###-####. they came to our residence they found that the mother board went out, Frank the generator tec said thats one of the problems with Kholer so he replaced it. Norris Electric tried to send in the claim for payment under our warranty that states 18 month/1000hour warranty for off grid but was rejected due to being off grid. I called the manufacturer and explained the issue she told me its not covered because you are off grid. [redacted] said yes it is for off grid that was a specific question we asked. I have contacted [redacted] on this matter many times I have faxed over the billing statement as he requested as my husband has done the same and we get no response, when we contact him by phone he is very rude and disrespectful. Norris Electric is upset because AP electric wont respond. It has been 8 months since the issue began we have gone without any power at times because of this issue . [redacted] lied to us and should be held responsible for warranty work.Desired Settlement: If this unit is not for off grid AP Electric should be responsible for all warranty coverage or take back the unit due to [redacted] not knowing the warranty guidelines he sold us a unit that is not for off grid.

He told me that I could receive my refund check as early as 10/1/13. On 10/2/13,I called customer sevice and spoke with [redacted] and he said the person that issues the refund checks wasn't there and couldn't help me. When you buy from AP Electric, be sure to read the fine print. They are not responsible for anything. My generator was delivered with two big holes in the front. The carrier "ESTES" also denied any responsibility. The holes were concealed by the crate so if you do buy from them and disregard my advice, make darn sure you open the crate and go over the item with a fine tooth comb. Even then what if there is something wrong that's not visible? Even then AP Electric is not responsible and they do not care. My advice, buy from your local dealer. "DON"T BUY FROM AP ELECTRIC"!!!
