Review: The contract with AP Flooring LLC was to Install the hard wood floor in the hallway and put a door on a closet in the kitchen. The contract price was 375.00 which I paid to them with a check,on the first day, I did not think much could go wrong with a 5x3 area an 144x2 inch strip and put base board back on and the door on the closet, what could go wrong. The reason it was billed for that amount is because my son and I took up the base board, carpet cleaned the floor. I purched all materials that where required. The price I paid them was what they asked for. These people where sent to me from Angie's List. when I called to report these people to them they said, they never recommended these people. They came back with a settlement of $100.00.I refused it. The first day, the owner came with(two other men) they finished the floor except a small section about a 5x3 section of floor so I had to order a new box of flooring, Lumber Liguidators do not sell small pieces of hard wood floor. They measured it wrong in the first place, wasted it.The owners brother came back to finish the floor, he brought a young teenage boy whith him to finish the 5x3 section of of hard wood floor, put the base board on and put the door on in the kitchen. It took them from 10.30AM to 4:00PM to finish the 5x3 section of the floor. I has to sit down stairs in the kitchen because I had been rear ended by a box car a couple of days ago and I could not go up to see what was going on. when they told me they were finished I went up stairs to see what was done and this is what I saw. There are cracks in the door sealsThere are cracks in the hard wood floorThe base boards are not put backStair nose not put onThe kitchen closet door is not put on.The up stairs cuboard door in brokeI do have pictures of the above.I called the owner and asked he to come over and look the job he told me he would come over and look at it, and fix it, or give me my money, he never did any thing.Desired Settlement: I want my money refunded to me, as he stated to me over the phone that he would do.Or repair the work.

Response:
Referencing case number [redacted] in regards to the complaint that my company received.
We were sent to [redacted] house for an estimate. My brother (employee) was sent out to give an
estimate. After measuring and finding her measurements were off and she would need more wood, the
customer then went on stating he was wrong and she had bought plenty of wood. So he agreed that
maybe he had made a mistake on measurements. We then went on the quote using her measurements
and gave her a very very good quote on this project. When we arrived on site the first day my brother
was not there it was me (owner[redacted]) and an employee of mine. She almost refused to let us in
the house? After talking in the freezing cold for a good 10 min to ensure her who we were she finally let
us inside. We got started right away. She also gave us 2 different sized hardwoods, width size, and
stated that there is no reason we cannot mix them together. I also explained the gaps that would occur
unless you ran one row of one width and one row of the other width. After getting told we didn’t know
how to lay hardwood we continued. About half way — three quarters of the way through the project
she ran out of wood but did state “I am very happy with the work so far and you can add me to your list
of satisfied customers”. Then went on to say “you must not know how to lay wood because I had
enough” She had enough to cover 66sqft of flooring there was almost 88 in the hallway I believe. After
she bought one more box of hard wood I once again came back With a young labor that is eager to learn
the trade. He was making my cuts for me while I was nailing and was doing just fine. She also paid us on
the first day which I ensured not to do but she insisted. (now I see why). After it was all said and done
she was waiting on the stair piece to arrive cause the one she got would not work. I explained that once
that came in we would come back and do all the trim and do the stair piece and fix the door as stated in
the contract. I had customer review with me upstairs before we left as I have all my customers do and
she had stated that she was happy so far with the progress and at the time reported no damage at all.
There were a few nicks on the wall from install down low where the base board goes up and is
unpainted anyways. After reviewing everything with the customer and getting a day satisfaction report
back I was under the impression to await a phone call for the remaining materials. She could not
remember me from my brother and called my office stating all kind of crazy facts that I know are not
true cause I was the one there that day (the owner on site)... I let her go and stated I would see what I
could do to satisfy her and when the materials came in I would come back. She didn’t even call back
after that and went on to file all these complaints. As far as l am concerned she is a customer that wants
nothing more than a free job from a small company. Thank you for the time in considering my
companies response and I hope that this helps for future customer to know that We (AP FLOORING LLC)
is here to help you guys and here to build long lasting relationships. We are a small family of Christians
that look to make this world better one job at a time.
