To whom it may concern:
This complaint is mostly false. *** hired me to take family portraits and I reduced my starting price from $750 (since she indicated her budget was $500-$1000) to $450 (I felt a bit low-balled but decided to do it). I came and took as many pictures as she wanted. After post processing, I placed them on a new jump drive, reviewed them, then mailed that with the receipt to her. I texted her to check on how things were. She said she wasn't too happy because the jump drive contained no photos. I immediately called her and we spoke about it (I was at a loss - not sure what happened there) and I told her I would mail off another one, as well as a CD drive, immediately (it was mailed to her the very next morning). Then the next day, her husband got the application called *** working. We reviewed them together and she said some of the photos she wasn't happy with. One thing mentioned was the fact the sun wasn't in everyone's faces evenly. I told her if I arranged everyone to get the same exposure from the sun, there would be no symmetry with everyone. She replied with, yeah, that's true. After I got off the phone with her, I sent a text to her: "***, I'm so sorry about this - I ordered a pack of thumb drives off *** and I think I got a defective set. I ensured the photos were on there before shipping so I'm at a loss. I'm sure John told you but I'll resolve this when I get home after works. I will also send you another set on a CD. You can't go wrong with CDs! Anyhow, I'm so sorry for the inconvenience - I would be upset too. I get it ***. Will be in touch later.
In all, there were only a couple she didn't like from what it sounded like. I inquired about some of the others and she really liked them. I told her that I'll do anything to make it right and I told her I'd throw in an extra large print, so that she'd get two. The next day, she received the CD and extra jump drive.
Meanwhile, my wife and I come back from our anniversary and I saw a text from*** that *** contacted me. She emailed and said, "You have offered to me a few suggestions on how you can make up the quality of your work. After looking at the photos again and again I feel they are not attractive photos. I am proposing you refund $200 of the $450." (My company does not do refunds; I'm paid for my time of driving out there 1.2 hours, spending an hour, and driving 1.2 miles back.) I wanted to think about this and was actually thinking about going against my own policy and offering her something back. But then I noticed she left me a 1 star out of 5 that said, "We had photos taken by Christopher A. He sent us the drive but there are no photos on it. We have been ripped off $450." I was very angry because this feedback was left immediately after she received the drive! I called, we spoke, we came to a resolution, and she left this?! Then I decided I will adhere to my policy and I sent her a reply regarding wanting a partial refund, and I wrote, "***, services were rendered and there are no refunds - only retakes; I told you I'd be happy to do a retake. And I do not appreciate the misleading negative feedback; I sent you another thumb drive and a CD with the photos on it. I did not "rip you off", and take your money and run, I tried very hard working with you but I guess I cannot please everyone. I don't like working with dishonesty so our business is done." I decided not to conduct anymore business with her because she is incapable of being pleased. I offered her retakes, driving out there and sitting down with her to review the photos, and she left this feedback? It's inaccurate and doesn't reflect the services rendered and product received. She admitted to liking most of them. She only referenced to me, a couple or few (maybe 2-3) that she didn't like.
That said, why is there a complaint about a thumb drive that was blank? I resolved that! Then the complaint indicated, "I tried calling and emailing to no avail. HELP!!!" This is an outright lie and I'd be happy to get phone records and time on the phone, as well as showing texts I texted her.
Lastly, her desired settlement is, "I would love our photos to be sent to us." I'm confused here??? She has them on CD and a jump drive, as well as on their computer, as I sent them also via ***. She has the photos! This is another lie. Last complaint is if she doesn't receive the photos, she wants a full refund. I will absolutely grant no refund, as services were rendered, and she received the photos. And, if she really hates these photos, then why does she want two large photos printed? Why print them if she doesn't like them? She said they were promised in a contract. I'm sorry - there was no contract whatsoever...this was out of the ordinary, as I had suggested giving her two photos to try and make this right.
I have decided to end our business because she received everything as I told her (I'd be glad to give her the rest of the photos that didn't turn out if she wants them). But I processed 36 pictures that was given to her via ***, jump drive, and CD! Since she is very dishonest, I have every right to end this business and have no more contact with her.

When we finally received the photos they were subpar. Some people were looking into the sun while others were shaded. I cannoT have these photos "retaken" as my family was here from all over the country.
Therefore I want the large photo as promised per our contract. He promised an 11 x 14 inch photo that was part of the deal.
(He actually offered 2 large photos because the quality of work was so poor.)
If we does not send me the contracted photos I would like $200 off my bill.

The consumer indicated, "When we finally received the photos they were subpar."

She indicated on a couple were subpar. I asked about others, of what she thought and she liked them. Again, she is being dishonest by saying they were subpar. Not every photo is going to be immaculate. I also explained to her the sun could not hit everyone's face at the same angle unless I lined everyone up asymmetrically. I told her that and she indicated, "yeah, that's true". While we spoke on the phone, she seemed happy with the pictures, but again, pointed out only a couple didn't look good. She received 38 photos.

As far as a refund, or even a partial refund, that is out of the question. She paid me for my time and my time is something I cannot get back. Additionally, she received the products.

Please ask her, if she thinks the photos are subpar, then why does she want a subpar large printout??? She said I offered her two because the pictures were so poor??? Yet, another dishonest statement.

Also, what about the poor review that was completely inaccurate? How can that be fixed? Again, I will quote, the review indicated, "We had photos taken by XXXX. He sent us the drive but there are no photos on it. We have been ripped off $450." She received the photos via Dropbox, 2 flash drives, and a CD.

I will "meet in the middle"; I will send her one large-print photo she had asked for, and she will pay for packaging and shipping. I also am requesting she contact *** and have the incorrect feedback removed. She can leave another feedback statement, but it needs to be accurate and fair. These are my terms.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
When I showed the photos to my family at Christmas their reaction was "hope you didn't pay too much for these ".
Because of their reaction no one wanted a copy for their homes. I knew the pictures were bad but I was hoping my family would've been excited by at least one photto
Because of this I no longer will accept a large photo.
The pictures cannot be
retaken as all family lives out of town.
I would be more than happy to send the photos to the Revdex.com for their review.

I am proposing a $200 refund as the photos cannot be retaken.
Thank you for your time
