I am rejecting this response because:
Once again, this business has misrepresented the truth with this response A few points:
-Prior to purchasing the class, I asked on multiple occasions if specific physical limitations could jeopardize our ability to complete classes in a very specific timeframe I was reassured that this would not be an issue The timing was was very important since we were leaving on vacation
-There was no lack of preparation on our part After purchasing the class, we immediately studied nonstop until the class started later that afternoon It should also be noted that both of us have been very successful academically, so speed of learning was not an issue either
-The reason that we did not show up for the second day of class is that we determined after the first day of class that we would not be able to finish in time and wished to cancel classes We informed the instructor after the first day of class The second day of class fell on a Sunday when the business is closed Hours before our class was scheduled to start, I called the emergency phone number on the website to double check that they were aware of our intent to cancel The manager answered and it sounded as though I woke her up (even though it was 10am) Apparently the emergency phone number was her cell phone She acknowledged that we would not show for the lesson and instructed me to call back the next day to make arrangements That's exactly what I did
-The way this training is scheduled, there is not a concept of "reserved training time" beyond the next training All training is scheduled one at a time
-American Express does not feel this is an attempt at credit card fraud I have spoken with them multiple times about this topic

Customer purchased SCUBA classes and equipment All refund policies and student responsibilities were fully explained After starting the class it was clear that the customer would require additional training time due to lack of preparation on the
customer’s part and being uncomfortable with the in-water work On the second day of the class the customer did not show up for class and did not inform us prior to the class start time Even though it is our store policy to only provide store credit for used equipment we issued a cash refund for unused equipment items However, we were unable to issue a refund for the reserved training time Customer attempted to dispute charge with American Express for full amount even after we had issued a partial refund American Express denied the request as it appeared to be an attempt at credit card fraud
