I now, after comparing the seals to what APARS supplier sold to them to the seals removed believe APAR DID replace the valve sealsThe problem is is that those seals were defective because they are just destroyed, they came out of their locations literally in pieces I have the seals,I and two others witnessed each of them being removed, and they are junk What was I supposed to think ? The car has over miles on it since they were replaced this last time and there has been no oil consumption/blue smoke on start up since I would request APAR to contact [redacted] ,who sold them the seals, and ask them why, since what they sold APAR were junk seals, that [redacted] reimburse me for what I paid in labor and parts for the junk they sold me and APAR MY apologies to APAR.I do request they contact [redacted] so I don't have to file a complaint on them, which I absolutely will do

Received at Revdex.com via email:Mr*** I am the mechanic that checked your truck out first of all I am very sorry you are upsetI will tell my story that went down your truck was towed in it would not crank over I put a jump box on it and it would turn over but would only start and run for about
secondsI pushed it into the garage I put my snap on scan tool on it and looked for codes there was none so I was unable to look at the freeze frame and see the data that the engine was doing when the code showed up when you took to Auto Zone since Auto Zone must have cleared the codesSo I had to start from scratch I looked at the RPM reference on the scan tool and I had RPM reference so there for that showed me your crank sensor was working but it still was not startingI then hooked up the fuel tester and found you had no fuel volume coming out of the fuel pumpI then sprayed starting fluid in the throttle body it would start and run with the starting fluidSo I told *** to call you to find out what you would like to do he told me that you wanted to install a new fuel pump in it so I started to drop the fuel tank and found you had a rotten fuel neck so *** had me change it alsoAfter I installed the new fuel pump I restarted it and it had good fuel pressure and good volumeI then left the truck run in the garage and had no problemsThen after you picked it up and drove the truck it quit running we had it towed back to our garage at our expense and then finally found a code for the crank sensor so if I would have put a crank sensor in it the first time it still would have not started because you had rpm reference and no fuel volumeSo you had your choice when *** called you, like I said before you told *** to have us put the fuel pump in it so with my findings you had two problems going on I wish people would not let Auto Zone erase codes it make it hard to repair cars they are not mechanics just part salesmanOnce again I am very sorry you are upset I have been working on cars for years and never steered you wrongI would not had put a fuel pump in your truck if all my fuel readings was ok Also I saw that you was only interested in getting your labor back it was not $it was only $in labor I did have time in doing diagnostic test to your truck which I didn't charge you for I hope this helps you understand better what happen

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/12/04) */
The customer had called and spoke with service manger and said his car was still doing the same thing and that he wanted a appointment to bring it back in to look at it she said no problem she could get him in that week he called he said he...

wanted to come in around week or 2 after that week she said ok thats no problem that was the end of that phone call the week before he was to bring it in he called and said he took it to a dealer for a coolant leak and they said we never replaced the seals and the valve cover gaskets which we did I have the bills to prove I bought the parts which the one part we had to drive 45 miles to go get also when he came in to pick up his car we showed him his old seals which he admitted he did she on the phone call he told us he had pictures of what he said we didnt do we asked for him to bring them in and we would show him the receipt of proof we bought them and installed them he never showed up and then a month later we get a call from him again saying the same thing we told him he never came in and showed us anything and to look at the proof we had and he got irate with us on the phone and threaten us and then he hung up on us. we didnt hear from him agin until we got this in the mail.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 7, 2015/12/07) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I now, after comparing the seals to what APARS supplier sold to them to the seals removed believe APAR DID replace the valve seals. The problem is is that those seals were defective because they are just destroyed, they came out of their locations literally in pieces.
I have the seals,I and two others witnessed each of them being removed, and they are junk.
What was I supposed to think ? The car has over 500 miles on it since they were replaced this last time and there has been no oil consumption/blue smoke on start up since.
I would request APAR to contact [redacted],who sold them the seals, and ask them why, since what they sold APAR were junk seals, that [redacted] reimburse me for what I paid in labor and parts for the junk they sold me and APAR.
MY apologies to APAR.I do request they contact [redacted] so I don't have to file a complaint on them, which I absolutely will do.

I am rejecting this response because:
I left specific diagnostics showing the code for a faulty crankshaft sensor. The proper way to test the crankshaft sensor after being TOLD it was not working properly was to test it with a volt meter. This was not done. (something all the part stores do for free since takes all of 2 minutes so let's not pretend like this is a big deal! )You then say you tested the fuel pressure? I was told by [redacted] you did INDEED have fuel pressure but it was not at recommended levels? This is exactly why I asked [redacted] on the phone and I quote " ARE YOU POSITIVE THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR ISN'T BAD "To which he replied " I'M POSITIVE "After that and only after that I said go ahead and replace the fuel pump. You called and said it was ready. I paid the bill and drove it 10 minutes to my home. Shut it off and it did the same exact thing it did before... Wouldn't start! It would act like it wanted to but wouldn't stay running. Yes indeed you called a tow truck after providing me the number to one who couldn't accommodate my truck. He told me he had a flat rate of about $40 in case I ever needed towing in town. I'm guessing in light of the rest of the information I provide you well made up for that tow in over charging for parts! BOTTOM LINE YOU #1 DIDN'T KEEP OR PROVIDE ANY REPLACED PARTS EXCEPT THE FUEL FILLER NECK THAT WAS RUSTY AND #2 SINCE [redacted] TOLD ME YOU GOT PARTS FROM AUTOZONE WE KNOW AT THE VERY LEAST YOU MARKED UP THE PARTS AT AN UNPROFESSIONAL RATE!! I checked around and couldn't find anyone who would mark up parts over 10% !! My cost for parts $407.85 and your bill for parts $646.85 A MARKUP PF $ 238.99 AROUND 30% !!SINCE YOU DID CHARGE ME FOR LABOR $269.00 and not $207 you previously stated (perhaps your math is the problem with overcharging on parts?) and in light of all things I've mentioned I would still settle for the labor you billed of $269.00. If not acceptable you will surely see me in small claims court.  Thank you for your reply.EFG0271 FUEL PUMP - APAR CHARGE = 413.71 AUTOZONE'S PRICE  $258.88    TR19 FUEL TANK LOCK RING - APAR $36.98 AUTOZONE'S PRICE $19.99SU 1178 CRANKSHAFT SENSOR - APAR  = 81.80 AUTOZONE'S PRICE   $60.99  FN795 FUEL TANK FILLR NECK - APAR=  114.35 AUTOZONE'S PRICE   $67.99
