The residents submitted notice to vacate on January 7, 2017, stating that they would vacate their Unit on February 28, 2017.They stated the reason for moving was that they were buying a homeOn February 6, 2017, they submitted an amended notice to vacate due to a delay with their home and stated
they would be moving on April 30, Again on March 10,? 2017, they submitted notice that they would be extended thei purchaseEach Written notice advised that the residents would apartment to the landlord by returning their keys.On June 1, 2017, their keys were not returned to our office and emailOn June 3, 2017, *** *** spoke to our Assistant been cleaned up; however, there were a few things in the Unit a dayKeys were not received and it was not until June 5, 2017, that *** ***? replied to ? the email sent by the Senior? Property Manager on June 1, He stated that they intended to return the keys that eveningHowever, it was not until the morning of June 7, 2017, that the keys were received from the night drop boxTherefore, rent was charged for days, with accordance to their lease agreement which states: You have surrendered the apartment when: (1) the move-out date has passed and no one is living in the apartment in our reasonable judgment; or (2) all apartment keys and access devices listed? in paragraph have been turned in where rent is paid, whichever? date occurs first? Because *** *** stated that there were still items that they? intended to retrieve in the unit, we could not take possession.Following the return of their keys, the Senior Property Manager and the Assistant Property Manager have both spoken with? the *** Further, I spoke with *** *** directly and advised that though? the keys were not received until June 7th, ? we would waive two days of responsibility based on his email correspondence and only charge for days of rent in June? Keys were not received and it was not until June 5, 2017, that [redacted] replied to  the email sent by the Senior Property Manager on June 1, 2017. He stated that they intended to return the keys that evening. However, it was not until the morning of June 7, 2017, that the keys were received from the night drop box.
