ANC denied service complaint submitted on move-in day with photos as being submitted too late.
My son and his 2 roommates are renting at *** S ***, , *** On 8/16/18, move in day, they submitted a complaint to the ANC staff with photos of the condition of the cabinets in their kitchen. They were loaded with crumbs, some used kitchen items and filthy. The kitchen was not properly inspected when the previous renters moved out of the apartment. The renters were asked to submit additional information, which was received by ANC on 8/22/18. The desire was to get acknowledgement of the problem, and perhaps some kind of credit on rent due to the additional clean up the new renters had to complete. ANC told the renters that their complaint was received too late to be considered. I spoke to Jordan at ANC today, to gain an understanding of how the complaint process works. If notifying management of the problem on the day they moved in was too late, what is the process? He could not supply an answer. I asked how we could make this right, and was told that unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done. I asked if I could escalate this to management and was told I am welcome to call back, but could not be given the name of a manager or an e-mail address to follow up with. I was directed to the ANC website which does not have a "contact us" option. *** was pleasant, and seemed to be empathetic while delivering the company response. Unfortunately, the response I received was vague and evasive, so I am submitting this complaint. I want to know the complaint process for issues about the rental units managed by ANC. If my son and his roommates need a service request for the rental unit, I want to ensure that we all understand the process and that the ANC management handles it properly and promptly to everyone's satisfaction.

It has been over 40 days since our children moved out of the apartment we rented and we are still waiting for our deposit back or a statement
I helped my son and his roommate rent an apartment for last school year. We paid first and last month's rent and a $1200 deposit. Our kids moved out July 8th and 13th. We left the apartment in perfect condition. We notified them the kids were out and the apartment was ready to rent. It is now August 24th and we have yet to receive a statement or deposit refund. I called 8 times, only to hear the same line, It is sent out within 30 days. Well now it has been 40. I informed them today I am seeking legal counsel. I found out there is a class action against the company, and if you fill out a form and they don't take care of it within 10 days they provide legal assistance for you free.
