Review: I contacted APB Whiting to request a delivery of home heating oil on 16 December 2013. I had used them for heating oil the previous winter and had an account. I was told that they had a new policy and my equipment would have to be inspected at the time of delivery. I didn't understand the need for this and expressed my concerns about this policy because it is difficult to arrange to be available to allow access when they offer no projection as to when they would make delivery. But I agreed to make myself available and gave them a phone number to contact me so that I could be on site for delivery. After a few days I became alarmed that I had received no call nor any oil delivery as I was getting very low on oil. Thursday, 19 December 2013 I contacted APB Whiting to inquire as to the status of my delivery. I was told that they would check on it. On Friday I called again and was told that they thought I had received my delivery that morning. I called back later that day to advise them that I had received no delivery and they took my phone number and said they would investigate it. Late Saturday afternoon I called again since I had heard nothing and still had not received any oil and was told I was scheduled for delivery on Monday 23 December 2013. I asked if it was customary to take a week to get a delivery and was told that they were backed up and short on drivers. They indicated that normal wait time was 1-2 days. Monday morning at 7:50 am my phone rang twice and when I picked up the caller had hung up. There was no message left. At the time I gave it no thought. By 3:oo pm I had still heard nothing so I contacted a different oil company and arranged delivery. I immediately contacted APB Whiting and cancelled my order. I find it incomprehensible that after a week I have not received delivery, never been contacted nor been offered any reasonable explanation as to why. If the 7:50 am call on 23 December was from their driver, then it is unreasonable to expect someone to get to the phone in 2 rings at that early hour and had they left a message I would have immediately returned the call. Of course, I have no way of knowing if that call was indeed from APB Whiting but I choose to give them every benefit of the doubt.Desired Settlement: Since I received no product or service and they received no payment, I do not expect any kind of action or reimbursement. I would hope that someone from APB Whiting would choose to offer me some explanation as to what occurred and perhaps offer some assurances that the issues were being rectified. I would hope that in the event that my business were to fail to provide timely and professional service to this magnitude, someone would take the time and effort to bring it to my attention so the I could take corrective action.
