Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Today the salesman came to my house today, denied responsibility for the damage again and threatened to post bad reviews on my company's [redacted] page if I didn't let this bad review go away When I asked him to leave my house he insulted and then threatened my with physical harm How or when I made payment does not effect the damage to my home Sincerely, [redacted]

*** *** we do apologize that you feel this wayWe would like to keep this short and sweet but unfortunately you were outraged on the phone and didn’t give us a chance to explain to you what was happening before you continuously threatened us and hung upYou called in yesterday around 240PM,
November 17, with a leak and we rushed out from New Lenox to Hoffman Estates this morning, November 18, to address the situationWhile we were there our roofer discovered that your storm collar on your roof is/was causing your leakThis storm collar needed to be caulked in the middle of the storm collar not at the roofline, in which, our roofer took care of for youThe storm collar is something that we did not touch on your roof, however, we were out there and out of courtesy we caulked it for you, which will hopefully stop your leakPlease keep in mind that we did your roof in September and have had quite a bit of rain since then with no leak until nowThe past week has been extremely windy which probably knocked your HVAC pipe loose due to not having any caulk where the storm collar was locatedThe conversation went the way it did because you told us it didn’t matter if it’s not something we did but that it would cost us nothing to fix it so it should be doneWith your line of work and just general knowledge of how businesses run you know this not to be trueWe have to pay the secretary that tried helping you yesterday (When she gave you advice on how to prevent further damage to your drywall that you said you wouldn’t do) and today on the phone and we have to pay for the roofer to drive out to your home and for his time spent thereNow you are asking us to go back out there and fix drywall damage as wellThe end of the conversation would have been us telling you that if you continue to have a problem we are merely a phone call away and we can discuss further options including possibly fixing your drywallYou need to make sure no further damage will occurWe stand by our work even if it happens to be something out of our control we will make exceptions to show our customers that we appreciate them. The above response was written 11/18/but our company decided to not post this on his social media posts and to handle the matter privatelyPrivately we informed the homeowner that we would hire someone to fix his drywall even though we do not agree with it after his actionsSince then things have changed after *** *** decided to post his complaint on our *** photos and page along with his own page (UPDATE: *** *** kindly removed those *** posts)He didn’t stop there and went as far as complaining to the Revdex.com, which will not come off our record even with it not being our work that was the issueThis happens to be a fault with how Revdex.com is run and a different issue all togetherOn top of that when he spoke to one of the women in our office he belittled her and yelled at her which is unacceptable and the owners of APEK will not stand for that sort of treatment to their staff His family that used us previously referred *** *** who is the CEO of *** ** *** *** out of Palatine, to usHe called in 5/4/and due to his difficult schedule we did the estimate over the phone without going out to his home, which he was completely fine withWe didn’t receive his signed contract and deposit until 7/31/The check happened to bounce and he sent us an email in regards to it on 8/3/that he had the opportunity to purchase a classic car and that the check would bounce but that the bank could put it through againThe check ended up bouncing a second time and did not get worked out until the end of August beginning of SeptemberWe were completely understanding during this time and did not end the contract nor did we give him a difficult time about itWe did the roof 9/& 9/and had to come back out due to not having enough material to complete, but everything was completed in full by 9/In our line of work the final payment is due upon completion of workWhen we informed *** *** that we did not receive final payment as of 10/8/he replied back 10/13/that he got busy and forgotAt this point we still did not give him a hard time even with the knowledge that there was a chance that this check could bounce as wellWe finally received final payment 10/15/and thankfully it did not bounce (Maybe that is because he had to wait to pay us until he had the money but that’s just speculation)At no point during this Financial Advisors money mishaps with us did we turn around and blast him on his social media accounts as well as other review forums due to being a professional that would hope for the same courtesy for any issues that may arise It is very unfortunate that a CEO of a wealth management company can give us a hard time with a payment before the work is even performed but once an issue happens that has nothing to do with the work that was performed he instantly throws a fit without giving us the chance to explainWe live in a world where the “Customer always being correct” binds us and in fear of these customers’ opinions being blasted on social media/review forumsThis isn’t fair to us, especially a company such as ours, which will address situations and has gone out of our way to rectify these situations and/or help even if it doesn’t have anything to do with usWe’re aware that people aren’t always going to be happy no matter what amounts you go to and we can live with that, especially with the amount of work we have each seasonHowever, this situation just happens to be absurd and needed to be addressed. *** *** let us put it to you this wayWith you being the CEO of *** *** *** Management would it be right for one of your customers to accuse you of losing all of their money even if the reason they lost it is because they decided on their own before you last touched their money to put money in their friends company that tanked after you last touched their money? No it would not be right but you would have an explanation as to why it wouldn’t be and your client would hopefully be adult enough to listen to that reasonWould it be right to say that a CEO of a wealth management company probably shouldn’t be in control of other people’s money if they can’t control their own? Maybe, but that’s just an assumption that some people may come to on their own by reading thisJust a couple things that next time might make you realize that you should probably stop, breathe, think and act appropriately to the situation at hand. I apologize for the delay in getting a response to the Revdex.comWe have held off due to having some sort of communication with *** *** since the incident occurredSince this has now tarnished our complaint free record we are aware that we had to post our side of the storySince then we have told *** *** that we would send out a contractor to fix his drywall which has also lead to us saying that he can contact HVAC companies to give estimate for his pipeWe made him aware that we are not accepting responsibility but we will help him this timeThis is again something we would have rather kept privately because we feel that it sends the wrong message to consumersHowever, since it has been made public we hope that we don’t see a negative effect with consumers assuming the roofer should fix every issue for their roofWe merely would like to rectify the situation considering he found us from a long line of referrals that we would like to keep a good standing with. As of today the estimator *** has been speaking with *** *** about setting up a time to come out and assess/take photos of both the pipe and drywallThis way we can give information to our contractors in order to move forward with fixing the issueDue to the holiday I am unaware if a time was set up but we are hoping to know more on Monday.If anything we hope *** *** understands that we in no way intended for this to go this routeWe are always willing to help out and feel that we do a pretty good job at that if the customers allow us toWe also hope that this response doesn’t hinder *** *** from letting us move forward with fixing his issue

The homeowner had a very minor issue where about a 2’ section of flashing had come loose. This flashing is what connects the flat roof to the shingle roof. On the morning of Monday, November 21st after receiving the email from the homeowner and Revdex.com we decided to send out one of our supervisors to...

address the issue instead. Our supervisor not only re-secured the loose part of the flashing but the entire flashing with screws. He reported back to the office that it was just loose and it had not caused any leaks or any further damage. We do have a protocol on how to handle warranties, however, sometimes we bypass the paperwork and use other forms of communication to get the warranty taken care of in a more timely manner especially if someone happens to be in the area. In this instance that happened twice, which lead to the office believing it was taken care of rather than having the paperwork turned back in to follow up with. We apologized to the homeowner for the situation and we hope to have ended on a good note with them.
