Review: My family was robbed by one of the travel agency employees. We were made aware of this horrible situation when I tried to do online check-in & all 10 of my family members statuses came up cancelled, Please help us get our money back!!Desired Settlement: airfare cost paid back in FULL!!!!

Review: A trip to my home, Barbados was booked for 10 people through an agent at Apel travel. The night before when we tried to select our seat preferences we were told that our tickets did not exist. She was paid $6000.00. Actually the only ticket that was issued was mine but my daughter's was cancelled. On July [redacted], when I checked -American Airlines website, I noticed that our tickets were on hold, I called American Airlines to ask about the status they said this meant that they were not paid for. Apel travel was contacted that day and denied this, stated that American Airlines were incorrect and all the tickets were paid for. The next day via a three way call with American Airlines, they confirmed that all the tickets were paid for. Since that time American Airlines has confirmed that the tickets have been cancelled numerous times and rebooked until finally there were no seats left for them to rebook.Apel travel is denying that The agent works for them, yet while we're were in the office her brother came in and gave the staff member a Manila envelope stating it was from The travel agent ,which she graciously accepted. The travel agent contacted my sister via text to state that she can't talk now because she is in the hospital. When we asked her brother he said "no,she is not in the hospital, she is in Pennsylvania.We went to the Police but she has to be on the premises for them to file a complaint. This has disappointed many generations-my aunt, her children,-her grandchildren and great grandchildren,my daughter -have never been to Barbados. We were born there but some of us have not returned for 16-39 years.We were not allowed to speak with the person in charge via telephone with the excuse that we will be told the same thing that this agent does not work for them.Desired Settlement: We are requesting a refund on our money because we were told that we could not get our money back. I am also requesting that this establishment be investigated for their business practices. While I was allowed to look in the computer at the office I saw many other names mixed with our group so I am not sure how many people this has happened to now and in the past. I will like to be an advocate for those who don't know what to do in situations like this.
