Apex Furniture Refinishing

Buyer beware.

Anyone contemplating employing the services of Apex Furniture Refinishing should carefully consider this review.

The best run businesses do not merely rely on their specific niche or trade while ignoring customer service, but that's how Apex operates.

I encountered some the worst business practices ever at this establishment. Mr. [redacted] from Apex is evasive and will not answer questions directly unless you press him for a specific answer, and even then he may not.

When I asked how long it would take to refinish a table top, the answer was vague and not in the form of a "not later than" date.

Do not expect Apex to proactively contact you and keep you informed of progress or delays as any other business which values the customer would. Managing customer expectations attentively, proactively and in a timely manner is not important to Apex in the least. What should have been a two to three week job took nearly three months to complete. Apex refused to negotiate any discount whatsoever related to excessive delay, and stated that if the unreasonable delay was a problem that I should have picked up the piece. In other words take my business elsewhere.

The quality of the work itself was acceptable, it was not shoddy but certainly not outstanding. There were a few small faults in the workmanship but the overall service there relating to documentation, verbal communication, representation and attitude of the business and valuing my patronage was horrendous.

I strongly considered either picking up the unfinished table after several weeks or just leaving it, but I had left a substantial non-refundable deposit when I dropped off the table. You could press Apex more than I did, It wasn't worth the frustration or you could follow Apex's suggestion and take the business elsewhere as there are others in this line of work.
