Apex Mold Specialists Reviews (%countItem)

I have had great results with David at Apex Mold Specialists, both during the testing process and after.
He was extremely polite and respectful of my apartment. He thoroughly explained the testing process, my test results, and what to watch out for with mold in general.
I have called him many times over the past year, with further questions and he always makes himself available to speak, free of charge.
I would say he's gone far above and beyond and highly recommend him as a certified mold inspector.

Hired them for Mold Assessment & Test and Inspection Report. Called to inquire about their service. I was told over the phone, their mold inspection service sold through Angie's List or Home Advisor website for $399.00 will include, 1. Walk-through of the entire space with moisture detector 2. Indoor Air Sample Test 3. Outdoor Air Sample Test 4. Actual spot swap test.

The whole visit took exactly 13 minutes, door to door. He did NOT perform the entire walk through of the first floor at all. When I asked him to do that, he was obviously very annoyed and asked "Where do you want me to see?". When I showed him two separate specific spots; he glanced at it carelessly and said it looks good when we clearly see black spots and that got us concerned to call the Mold experts to begin with.

Worst part is when we received the report. The date on the report and the numbers on the table didn't add up correctly which made it look very suspicious. They use a lab in SC called SEEML. After much digging around and contacting the lab by ourselves many times to verify the actual samples delivery to their facility, it became pretty obvious Apex never sent in the actual samples to the lab and fabricated the report.

When we contacted Apex with this information and requested them to send us the proof of the actual sample delivery to the lab and to provide us a full report, Apex failed to respond to our request. Until they can prove that they actually overnighted the actual samples to the lab, and SEEML lab can provide an actual data analysis of our samples, these 2 page reports we paid and received stand as a forged documentations and Apex has committed a fraudulent business practice.

Apex Mold Specialists Response • May 13, 2019

We would like to dispute the refund for the mold inspection services that were performed and completed as requested by the client. Our company Apex was scheduled to perform a mold inspection and our inspector David arrived as scheduled on April , 2019. The samples that were taken were send immediately on the same day to SEEML lab for the purpose of analysis to determine the presence and quantification of mold. The report was completed and the analysis was done by the lab on April , 2019 and was send to Apex. Attached are the lab results with the interpretation which was send to the client. Also attached is a letter from the lab manager at SEEML lab confirming that Apex sent the samples to them in a timely fashion along with his contact information which was send to the client once we received her complaint that the she wanted proof that the samples were delivered to the lab and that we fabricated the report (which is clearly not the case). It is therefore very difficult to understand how the client arrived at these accusations when in fact she had a copy of the report and was given the opportunity to contact the lab directly to confirm. All the dates of the reports were accurate and the tables were accurate as well and documented by the lab . Attached is the chain of custody with the clients information which was send to the lab along with the air and swab samples taken at the property as well as our Narrative report and letter from the lab manager confirming receipt and analysis of the samples taken and send to SEEML lab. The complaint that the customer made that Apex forged and committed a fraudulent business practice is completely false and very damaging to the reputation that our company has built for so many years of honestly serving our clients.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]

First of all,Apex still failed to provide an actual shipping label as a proof for the delivery of the actual samples sent to the lab.Secondly,Apex's lab results are vastly different than 3 other very reputable licensed mold assessment companies who we hired to get second opinions. Consensus is, "Apex's partial report data shown are highly unlikely to be true".Thirdly,According to the New York State Department of Labor, Labor Law Section 936(2) prohibits a licensee from performing both the mold assessment and the mold remediation on the same project. And Apex clearly presented themselves to us to perform both, by sending us the remediation estimate (see attached) almost immediately after vising our house on 4//2019 without sending us any assessment report. This is clearly a violation of Section 936 of the Labor Law. We've been specifically advised to file a formal complaint about this by the New York State Department of Labor. With all that said, if you provide a full refund of $400 by coming Wednesday, May *** of 2019, then we will agree to not filing a formal complaint with New York State Department of Labor and retract Angie's list review.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely
