Apex talked to and responded to Mr. [redacted] directly about this complaint back in December 2014.
The action Apex Preowned took was: refunded $20.71 repair (a new radiator cap and top off radiator with antifreeze) from the customer's trusted mechanic. Mr. [redacted]'s mechanic...
said that was all that was wrong with the car and fixed it with the new radiator cap.
Customer stated after driving the car to [redacted] Ga and back that the water inlet housing broke and his trusted mechanic fixed for $320, in which Apex paid for half the repair of $160.
The trusted mechanic stated after they replaced the water inlet housing, they did a pressure test that showed the head gasket had blown due to the water inlet breaking. At this point the mechanic told the customer that to repair
head gasket was $1200-1400, which he granted permission to do. The water inlet housing was not broke when the customer when Mr. [redacted] bought the car and when he took it to his trusted mechanic for a new radiator cap.
I just like everyone, wish they knew when a part on a car would break. We just don't know when a problem is going to occur.
Apex sold the car as/is without any warranty. As we told the customer we were truly sorry and apologized that this happened. We have been in business for 10 years at the same location and our reputation is very important.
Once again, we spoke to Mr. [redacted] directly in December 2014 and we talked at length and we both knew the final decision. The customer disclosed that while we were talking on the phone that he was taping our conversation.
