The day that Mr. [redacted] and I, we talked about the weather is a factor in the completion and outcome of the deck. We discussed how his deck was too hot by 10am to apply stain. stain.  He wanted semi-transparent. We talked about how we could stain a section a day before it was too hot. We also discussed the stain that was applied prior. He said it was one coat. Later we were told it was three coats. I said we would remove as much as possible without damaging the cedar deck. We attempted to remove the previous staining, it was not removed completely. He said ok. We began the process of staining a section at a time in the mornings while it was cooler. This was Wednesday, he then tells me he wants it done before his trip on Friday. The deck was completed by Friday and we were paid. Approximately three weeks later, I receive a call stating he did not like the way the deck looks. He is a designer and had a vision of how the deck should look. I visited the deck and discovered spots that were not to my personal standards. Some of the problems were because we were not able to do the project in sections as discussed. Mr. [redacted] and I discussed remedies.  I decided to remove the new stain and hand stain the deck with two coats of stain. Everything looked good. Again. Approximately three weeks later I receive a call stating he is not happy.
